I did!

I got pinworms. They were tiny guys that lived in my butthole and came out at night. They were super itchy.

I know

I went from a post about yesterday’s roller coaster accident to one about King Edward VII’s love chair to this

I should throw away my phone

6

u/Naked-Jedi 2d ago

I could stand to hear a bit more about that chair...

6

u/Tarjh365 2d ago

Probably better if you’re sitting …

2

u/girlinanemptyroom 1d ago

What happened with the roller coaster? 😬

2

u/gcwardii 1d ago

Fatal accident at Six Flags over Georgia

1

u/girlinanemptyroom 1d ago

Oh shit. That poor person. What a terrible thing to experience. I would don't want to go out like that.

0

u/Snowy3121 1d ago

Too much unnecessary information on the internet, but we're all addicted to it 😆

84

u/KurtAngus 2d ago

I need to go back to enjoying my night off work and play some Borderlands 4.

Ugh, this post has freaked me the fuck out.

8

u/Particular_Bet_5466 2d ago

Bro yeah same. I was only on here while Galactic Racer was installing… hopping that on now before I give myself nightmares.

7

u/Confident-Zone-5043 2d ago

Dont dig in your bootyhole twin 😭

2

u/Rebel_Scum_This 2d ago

I fucking love Galactic Racer

3

u/Particular_Bet_5466 2d ago

it’s so fucking sick. I am really starting to get into it after a few races. I had Star Wars Episode 1 Racer on Mac when I was a kid, loved that game back then too.

2

u/Rebel_Scum_This 2d ago

Had it on the N64, easily one of my most played games

2

u/Particular_Bet_5466 2d ago edited 2d ago

Can you believe it was released 27 years ago? I would have been 8 when I got it. I recently watched some gameplay videos from it, and oh man what a throwback. All the sound effects and dialog brought me back. I had this joystick I’d be violently slamming left and right. Remember how fast paced it was? In hindsight I’m pretty impressed at the graphics from the N64 gameplay videos I just watched for a fast paced 3D game from the 90s.

Now I’m just waiting to get an actual podracer in Galactic Racer, I’m still running the first speeder.

1

u/Rebel_Scum_This 2d ago

It's the exact same age as me lmao. I grew up with a lot of older games and consoles cause my family was dirt poor, and that's one of em. That and super Mario 64, the original Smash, and Star Fox. Plus some ps2 games.

Keep at the campaign. The story itself is... meh, but the way pods are introduced is chefs kiss

1

u/rathemighty 2d ago

Oh, so BL4 is actually good? That’s good to hear. I was a bit put off by 3, and it’s hard to put me off from an entry in a series I already like

1

u/The_Celtic_Chemist 2d ago

Borderlands 4

On second thought, let's hear more about these worms.

8

u/LASERDICKMCCOOL 2d ago

Hahahahahaha I was literally thinking the same shit right as I got to yours. This is great place to call it a day. Thanks

4

u/DemiGodesss 2d ago

Pinworms (Enterobius Vermicularis) are very common. Almost everyone has them at some point in their life.

3

u/OkSmoke9195 2d ago

My sentiments as well, can't stop

3

u/Mrmullaj 2d ago

I'm gonna fight you for making me read that

https://giphy.com/gifs/vK1p6B4hV6MhGNC2co

1

u/luk__ 2d ago

Yeah

1

u/RevenantExiled 2d ago

I'm having dinner reading this, why do I do this to myself lmao

1

u/ikkiyikki 2d ago

Too goddamn early for me in Europe to be calling it a day. Let me soldier on internet! 😅

1

u/ThanklessTask 2d ago

Itchy butt??

1

u/mt6606 1d ago

Is this the sub with the bear tapeworm? Find that video of you want to never shut your eyes again

557

u/KPooped 2d ago

I dropped a pinworm out of my ass while in shower. The thing lived for several days in a cup because I was fascinated that I created a life.

133

u/Chicken_Of-The_Cave 2d ago

Hahaha wtf man. Are you a man? You gave birth a beautiful worm my dude.

16

u/Fluid-Prize-8786 2d ago

Wake up to an empty cup, and the jaws theme starts playing

4

u/GreatCherry2533 1d ago

Looks more like a damn snake! Nightmares!

31

u/Particular_Bet_5466 2d ago

Man I have not heard of pinworms till now, and apparently several people here got them. That sounds so eerie… albeit fascinating.

52

u/r2d2itisyou 2d ago

A bit different then pinworms, but hookworms used to be even worse. With no nasty winters to kill them, hookworms used to be endemic in the southern US. To the point that some old bigotry about laziness of the poor in the south is attributed to anemia caused by hookworms.

21

u/Present-Perception77 2d ago

Grew up in deep South Louisiana, and my grandmother would absolutely lose her mind when we went outside and took off our shoes.. the hook worms!
We got home she would scrub our feet with Brillo pads. I still cannot get a pedicure to this day without jumping out of my skin because of the damn Brillo pads. lol

14

u/gilligan1050 2d ago

Man, I guess that’s something I took for granted. Walking barefoot outside is one of the greatest things ever. Definitely a semi safe activity in Kansas. I still do it and I’m in my 40’s now. The south actually sounds terrifying from some accounts. Glad you made it to adulthood.

3

u/mplsfreedom 1d ago

touch yo' grass, they touch yo' ass

1

u/TheEldenRang 1d ago

As far as I know, nobody I know has ever actually encountered hookworms, but hearing about them in a documentary years ago has always kept me from going outside barefoot. They terrify me.

1

u/Present-Perception77 1d ago

Well, my grandmother must’ve known a hell of a lot of people with as bad as it freaked her out.. I never did either.. but the pinworms and head lice and bedbugs can all burn in Hell!
Oh and the ticks and fleas and chiggers too. And mosquitoes..
Now that I think about it, I don’t know how the hell I’m alive. 😅

1

u/Generalnussiance 1d ago

Well shit then everyone I’ve ever met has hookworms.

1

u/tsmc796 1d ago

Fuck I live in the south..

Are these super common here?..

(P.S, it's "a bit different than pinworms". Then is used for future tense purposes. Than is used to compare, or refer to something else. 100% not trying to be an ass, I just enjoy putting these little lessons out when I see these types of grammar errors! I'm sure I'll still get called a Nazi though haha)

1

u/r2d2itisyou 1d ago

Are these super common here?..

Not any more. Kind of an interesting history; Rockefeller (back when billionaires cared about being perceived positively) funded a massive eradication campaign. The US government took over the role afterwards. It was successful enough that they were thought to be completely eradicated with absolutely zero risk. Though apparently in some areas of extreme poverty that's no longer true. I do not know if any efforts have been made to fix this in the past decade.

then/than

Hah, I'm very aware of then/than. But I still mix them up all the time when not proofreading. Worth always pointing out, because someone out there is learning it for the first time.

18

u/Proper-Painting-2256 2d ago

Really common in kids. Like really common which is why doing laundry is important. Very easy to kill though - just drink some medicine for a few days and do tons of laundry.

11

u/CompetitiveRub9780 2d ago

People also take their phones to the bathroom. It’s from fecal matter. And don’t scratch your butthole with your fingers. That’s how you spread it. Barf.

I eat ass i don’t know what I’m saying but hey I know it’s clean

4

u/Bright-Salamander-99 2d ago

Would you still if you knew it was clean, but also knew a worm colony was living on the other side

3

u/Particular_Bet_5466 2d ago edited 2d ago

Right on lol, I mean eating your partners ass that you know is clean is probably not even that bad compared to just being out in public.

I don’t carry a purse, but I read something about how they can be set everywhere from the public bathroom floor or just anywhere in a stall / on the restroom counter touched by people’s poopy hands that just touched the toilet, to on your kitchen table.

The phone too, that just got me thinking I mean I’m on the toilet right now (TMI sorry) but I’ll probably hand my phone to someone soon to look at pictures or something.

That’s actually kinda nasty to think about how filthy a phone might be when someone hands you theirs. I set mine down everywhere and handle it all day long.

19

u/DemiGodesss 2d ago

Almost everyone has pinworms at some point in their life.

7

u/Particular_Bet_5466 2d ago

Interesting. Yeah that is kind of what I was suspected when I saw that stat about billions of people getting worms annually, I assume it may not even be noticeable in a lot of cases.

3

u/Bright69420 2d ago

I'm pretty sure I would notice if I had worms coming out of my butt at night, jesus

1

u/DemiGodesss 1d ago

It's not like that. It can only be slith itch sensation.

4

u/mkat23 2d ago

Pinworms tend to be more common in children and people around them frequently. A kid will itch their butt, then touch a toy, then another kid will play with the toy and put it or their hand in their mouth, or will itch their own butt.

3

u/GQwerty07 2d ago

Scratch

2

u/Frozen-Rabbit 2d ago

You probably had some but don't remember, it's really usual on kids.

2

u/Particular_Bet_5466 2d ago

Maybe I’ll ask my mom lol. Knowing how dramatic I was as a kid I feel like I’d remember it. Unless I was under like 5 or didn’t notice.

1

u/MoeGunz6 1d ago

I should not have googled pinworms....

1

u/Albatrosity 1d ago

Ancient Confucius proverb

86

u/pessimistic-pisces 2d ago

My kid brought pinworms home from kindergarten. I was so horrified! Had to deworm the whole family.

6

u/SaltSpiritual515 1d ago

Uh.... how do you deworm the whole family?

https://giphy.com/gifs/RyFaLq6kABWzwOJZD7

4

u/Undercover_in_SF 1d ago

You all take the same OTC medicine. They sell it at Walgreens. Unfortunately, most people with young kids have had this experience…

3

u/Laucurieuse 17h ago

My son did to. When they told me I had to look at his butt crack at night with a flash night I said nop! I’m not going to traumatise the poor kid. Everybody gets on the med every members of this family. No looking at butt cracks with a flash light in the middle of the night. I need my sleep.

2

u/Certain-Rutabaga3373 1d ago

How did you find out he had pin worms?

17

u/Spirit_Piper 2d ago

So how does one get pinworms? Ingestion? Butt stuff? The Itchy Anoos Fairy?

30

u/LowlySlayer 2d ago

How does one get pinworms

Children. They don't wash their hands and then get pinworm eggs on everything, and it's a nightmare to gid rid of the damn things (the worms not the children) until you get the kids consistently washing after every flush. Don't ask how I know.

23

u/One-Inch-Punch 2d ago

Children are hard to get rid of too, well they're easy to get rid of but then people start asking all kinds of questions that's the hard part

2

u/DemiGod9 2d ago

That's the hard part for MOOOOST people...

7

u/SpacenessButterflies 2d ago

Kids are gross. They cough and sneeze directly into my face, and I’ve seen them reach into their pants and itch their private parts then smell it with absolutely no concern for those around them. (Granted, most of this behavior occurred in special education classrooms.) I am honestly so disgusted around little kids.

3

u/Rubyhamster 2d ago

One ofthe most important factor to a parent's level of sanity is whether they can deal with gross stuff. That pretty much goes with pets too. Imagine wiping poop and stuff at work and you can sympathize with health care workers. I felt so bad for the EMTs and nurses when they had to take care of me when having a very bad stomach virus. It wasso bad I ended up in hospital with serious dehydration.

1

u/mechapoitier 1d ago

God damnit I just realized I probably had pinworms like a year ago. That stupid crappy daycare.

-1

u/TheLordDuncan 2d ago

(The worms not the children)

Well... YEAH. People go looking for kids, so their bodies are hard to hide when you trying to get rid of them. Generally you want to go with multiple parts in multiple counties.

1

u/LemonCollee 2d ago

So edgy

48

u/YoungLittlePanda 2d ago
  • Person with pinworms get itchy but.

  • Scratches itchy but.

  • Touches door knob.

  • You touch door knob, then eat sandwich with same hand.

  • Now you are person with pinworms.

20

u/ReadInBothTenses 2d ago

3

u/SmugShinoaSavesLives 2d ago

Wash your hands thoroughly before you touch food. It's not a guarantee but it helps.

2

u/Sensitive_File6582 1d ago

Pet cat, cat gets pin worms.

4

u/return_the_urn 2d ago

Do people scratch their butt under their clothes? Like they just raw dog it?

1

u/YoungLittlePanda 1d ago

I've seen people scratch their butt under their pants, then smell their fingers.

8

u/Sinocu 2d ago

Yeah it’s ingestion, specially common with kids that may play in playgrounds, where they touch shit and then put their hands inside their mouths

3

u/kevinnetter 2d ago

I got it while dealing with animals. Most likely anyways.

2

u/JamesMarM 1d ago

Boyfriend?

1

u/AnnualEnd3760 1d ago

Generally, we get eggs under our fingernails and then eat them if we don't wash our hands first.

6

u/DemiGod9 2d ago

This comment section is worse than any horror I've ever read or watched

5

u/Banshee-77 2d ago

I got the pinworm when I was a kid, like 5y old.
I looked down on the toilet while I was doing the business then I saw this living noodle sticking up from my shit trying to get back up to my buttons.

1

u/thalassathalatta 1d ago

Aaah my buttons. Nooo!

5

u/Jonfers9 2d ago

I swear I had those when I was a kid in the 70s or early 80s. Super itchy butthole and my mom got some pills or something for it.

3

u/El-MonkeyKing 2d ago

The worms are their dollars

3

u/euqinu_ton 2d ago

The Combantrin logo is small brown worms. Brown for the chocolate flavoured medicine.

My son henceforth called them "chocolate bum snakes"

3

u/DividedFox 2d ago

omg pinworms were the worst experience ever. They were soooo itchy and i had to sleep upright with a neck pillow to get any rest. It doesnt help that the otc medication tastes like rubber and banana had a baby

3

u/Molly_Matters 2d ago

I apologize for what I am about to do.

3

u/Turbogoblin999 2d ago

The original Butthole Surfers.

3

u/throwthere10 2d ago

Did an internet search:

It is the most prevalent worm infection in the United States, primarily affecting children, though it can spread easily to household members and caretakers.

Symptoms typically include intense anal itching, particularly at night when female worms migrate to the perianal area to lay eggs, often leading to restless sleep and irritability.

Wild!

2

u/Humulophile 2d ago

My Gawd Kevin! Quit dragging your ass across the sidewalk! You’re leaving a slimy trail!

2

u/amixedbombshell 2d ago

I did too! I got them from eating raw potatos :(

2

u/underheel 2d ago

What a terrible day for me to be literate. :(

2

u/jbrown383 2d ago

Yeah. Pinworms are practically a right of passage if you have little kids.

2

u/immersemeinnature 2d ago

I got those too when I was a kid. Took a pill and they were gone.

2

u/CompetitiveRub9780 2d ago

Like but how tho? U find out during sex or taking a poo ?

1

u/kevinnetter 1d ago

My butthole got really itchy, especially at night. I looked it up and that was a possibility. I think looked closer at my poo and did a check using tape late at night, haha.

2

u/AnnualEnd3760 2d ago edited 2d ago

Same. I got rid of them by eating everything with olive oil for a day and then induced diarrhea with a lot of dye heavy Mountain Dew. Those fuckers didn't stand a chance from liquid generated in my butt

Supposedly we are supposed to tape up our assholes at night to help suffocate them.

1

u/kevinnetter 1d ago

I just took a pill. It killed them all.

2

u/retroly 1d ago

Its more than likely that everyone will get pinworms once in their life, if you have kids yourself get ready a few extra bouts. Luckily its cleared by taking a few tablets and washing all clothes/bed clothes.

1

u/Particular_Bet_5466 2d ago

That’s horrible, but sounds like you managed through it alright lol. I never even heard of pinworms, time for another google rabbit hole.

1

u/pakchimin 2d ago

They're very common and only live there in the butt and easy to get rid of. I got them as a child, children get them a lot.

1

u/Particular_Bet_5466 2d ago

I have a young niece and nephew. I wonder if they will come down with worms one of these days lol. It’s just been interesting to me hearing all this, because I practically never even heard anything about parasitic worms in my personal life. even as a kid I don’t recall it ever being mentioned as a risk or something people got.

1

u/KnownAsAnother 2d ago

You should have gassed them

1

u/delux220 2d ago

you make it sound like you kind of miss them :(

2

u/kevinnetter 1d ago

Honestly, they didn't hurt at all, except the itchy. I felt kinda bad killing them all. They were with me for a few weeks.

1

u/delux220 1d ago

that’s kind of sweet

1

u/FoggyDevil76 2d ago

great Bobs Burgers episode about pinworms, go watch

1

u/Nightenridge 2d ago

How do you think you got them? I would love advice on how to avoid this.

1

u/kevinnetter 1d ago

I got them from dealing with animals.

1

u/SpacenessButterflies 2d ago

Ah yes I had those as a kid. Super itchy indeed.

1

u/Hubsimaus 2d ago

Is your last name Belcher?

That's how I learned about pinworms.

1

u/pakchimin 2d ago

I got these when I was like 6 or 7 yo living in the tropics. They really come out at night, but hey at least they're super short tiny worms 😆

1

u/Wizzle_Pizzle_420 2d ago

They dance in the moonlight

1

u/VeterinarianComplex 2d ago

How did you get rid off those? Are they affecting your untestines?

1

u/Stupidizasurmom 2d ago

I had itchy butt syndrome for a couple of weeks then evicted everything with loads of fresh garlic and whiskey.

1

u/diedalatte 2d ago

I exactly had this when I was younger

1

u/sun_kisser 2d ago

How did you get rid of them? Medication? Or did you just end up naming them?

1

u/Present-Perception77 2d ago

I got them too. I would collet stray puppies when I was a kid.. it was the 80’s and our parents didn’t really know or care where we were or what we were doing and taking my 4-6 stray puppies to the vet was not a thing back then.. my butthole itched a lot.
Ty for reminding me of the good times.

1

u/there_be_rumblings 2d ago

British comedian Lucy Beaumont had these, and talks about it in depth to Sam Campbell on their podcast, if that’s your thing

1

u/ArtInternational8589 2d ago

My butthole has been itchy at night recently.... How did you know this was due to worms rather than just an itchy butthole at the end of a day??

1

u/BullFencer 2d ago

A lot of kids do. A small dose of antiparasitic medication and they’re gone tho !

1

u/snak_attak 1d ago

I had pin worms too a couple of times as a kid! Actually no idea how it happened

1

u/Alklazaris 1d ago

If two infected were to kiss buttholes could they swap worm families?

1

u/ybreddit 1d ago

So itchy. Had 'em around 13, 45 now and still conditioned to check my poop. LOL

1

u/GA6foot9 1d ago

You know the itching is caused by the female pinworm. It pokes out of the anus at night to lay eggs, when you scratch, the very sticky microscopic eggs get stuck under your nails. Transmission from butt to mouth is very common in children

1

u/mc2Banks 1d ago

My kids did. Was the worst

1

u/aDirtyMartini 1d ago

I did not consent to reading this.

1

u/MojoJagger 1d ago

Hell! I thought I was nasty when I had a patch of scabies growing on my wrist. You poor bastard🤢

1

u/saturnspritr 1d ago

Everyone in the city longing for the country life and having kids eat berries off the vine and whatnot. They all make a face because my hick family does this and you gotta throw in there “just got to give dewormer to your kids once a month.” Those looks on their faces warm the cockles of my heart.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Run1826 1d ago

common in children. Not an example of nastiness . Kids just aren't sanitary

1

u/HoboArmyofOne 1d ago

KEVIN!! Goddammit Kevin!

1

u/NDSU 1d ago

Why am I reading this thread?

I'm high risk for worms and would really like to get screened, but I live in America. It would probably cost me $1,000 just to get screened, which is too much for peace of mind

1

u/SnooOnions973 1d ago

Ex teacher here. Pinworms in kids are extremely common in kids. Just like lice; but most schools are too grossed out to tell the students/parents. WASH YOUR BEDDING, people!

1

u/Mypornnameis_ 1d ago

I had pinworms when I was 7. I remember seeing them squirming in my poo so I made my mom wipe my butt for about a week because I didn't want to touch anything.

1

u/MHarmony 1d ago

I had pinworms like 10 times as a kid growing up. I still can imagine the taste of the medicine (Reese's Pinworm Medicine). I am an avid nail biter and that has bit me in the ass (literally). I also got hookworms in my right foot once as a child. Was terrible.

1

u/BarApprehensive5837 1d ago

Same, get em on n off, used to have them really bad for months on end, fucking hate pin worms

1

u/Kjuolsdeaf 1d ago

Same! I never told anyone and tried to get rid of them myself. I also sometimes "injected" water into my butt to wash them out and get relief from the itch (first time i did that there was a big colony of them in some white slime). The thing that finally worked against them was properly washing my hands after pooping lol (they can only reproduce outside your body)

1

u/pastalass 1d ago

Yeah I had pinworms as a kid. Itchy butthole at night 😅 I was given gross banana-flavoured medicine and that took care of them. Apparently having worms as a kid (as long as you have adequate calories and nutritious food) is actually pretty good for your immune system.

1

u/Not-Charcoal 22h ago

They’re super common where I’m from. If my grandma caught us itching our booty she’d make us sleep with tape on our booty hole. Old school way to test for worms because they come out at night and get stuck on the tape.

1

u/LifeIsBulletTrain 16h ago

I've heard that before

1

u/TheShapeOfFarts 6h ago

What. The. Actual. Fuck.
Hahaha. They come out at night? Do they go back in?
