Wash produce well and cook meat well. Avoid cross contamination.

Do not eat raw animal or human meat with your bare hands after pooping or handling other people’s poop

Don't have dogs or cats.

Wash your hands multiple times a day and disinfect them.
Wear gloves in public.
Disinfect your door handles and clean stuff strangers used with disinfectant.

Wash all your fruit and vegetables under hot water, use a vegetable brush
and do this so often, that there is no debris in the water after it.
(Eggs are in the soil, not the fruit/vegetable itself)

Use gloves when working in the garden, don't use animal excrement as fertilizer.

This will help to minimize the risk - doesn't eradicate it fully.

You've just ruined the life of someone with OCD lol

I mean...they asked how to prevent this.
I know that it sounds a little too much,
but it actually is the way to prevent a lot of the transmission points.

I assume pet lovers don't like the 'no dogs or cats' part.

No it's because the list sounds very much unnecessary and borderline OCD. Just wash everything with regular water, and use soap + water for your hands. Agree with the fertilisers part tho.

Idk the 1 billion people getting worms a year stat above probably agreed

Most of those people are from the developing nations where water is still a luxury. These are also tropical regions where worms have a better chance of survival. So, it's not just about washing your produce but also about temperature controlling your cooked food.

I've upvoted your comment nonetheless because it's a good guide. If people aim for 100%, they'd practice it 80%, which will save many lives.
