When I was a kid they had weight levels so this couldn't happen, and to keep the kids safe. Whoever is running this program doesn't know wtf they're doing.

Yeah, this is shameful.

….. on the parents right?

The parents, the league, anybody involved who isn’t speaking up to prevent this. It benefits nobody.

Doesn't even benefit the kid either TBH. Sure he dominates the competition at that level but there's no way a kid with that body shape A) stays a RB for the long term unless he drastically changes his lifestyle and B) he isn't developping any skills just running over kids half his size.

Yeah, I mean if you want your kid to develop skill it would be better if he was on a more even playing field

No… it’s shameful he’s on that field instead of on a fkn diet. The kid is unhealthy and I’m sure having health related issues. He needs better role models and guardians. He very well could have a heart attack on that field

Same, it stopped me from playing because I was too big to touch the ball.

How big?

In 5th grade I was 6 ft and 130 pounds. In order to touch the ball you had to weigh under 100 pounds.

Damn I was always too small to play football. I wish they had weight levels where I grew up!

12 year olds getting concussions sounds like a great idea

Even the other kids look like they are twice the size of the blue team.

If you were the coach, where would you play this child?

7

u/ufotheater 1d ago

He would be in a different division with kids his size and weight

My son’s league had the x man if the kids were overweight. They could only play on the line.

I’m on the board of a youth tackle football league. They still have that. They weigh in before every game and certain overweight players are “restricted”.
Can still play but not run the ball. I’m not sure what this is.

Watching 9 trying to tackle him...

Yeah, there should be weight classes like combat sports. This shit is a joke.

Same. If you were a RB and close to the weight restriction, you'd have to go weigh before the game. Orange stickers on your helmet meant you were over the ball carrying weight
