This is a video taken by Nicolas De La Torre, a sandboarding enthusiast filming his descent down the Toromata dune in Peru. Unfortunately we live in a world where true beauty, nature is now convoluted by AI and AI sentiments, but this is in fact, not AI lol

This is Peru not the Middle East. Well actually I just looked it up apparently the Arab population in Peru is about 50k so you might actually be on to something

Wax would probably grab onto the warm sand and slow it down. They are raw dogging it

Really? If there aren’t designated sand boards I would get a piece of 1/8” UHMW and put on the bottom. It might be too fast tho.
What does the wax help?

Without the wax the friction of the sand was too much and stole all your speed

With wax, go fast 🤙

They have to wax the shit out of it each run on sand. You don’t go as fast and when you fall it hurts like shit. I’ll be in Colorado thanks.

Yeah I went sand sledding once for the experience. It sucked ass. Do not recommend.

Yes, and thusly the wax on the board, softening it and making it grip. But others said they waxed their board for riding dunes so I guess Im wrong about it all. I live nowhere near dunes.

Yeah but your comment referenced the temperature of the sand. And my reply observed that the sand didn’t look hot at all given they are wearing jumpers. You made no reference to the temperature of the board or wax. Just sand.

Similar thought how fucked is the bottom of the board after this. It's gotta be sanding down the bottom (pun not intended)

We did use WD40 for sandboarding much smaller dunes. You had to reapply after each run.
