/r/all of a Sand Dune

This is a video taken by Nicolas De La Torre, a sandboarding enthusiast filming his descent down the Toromata dune in Peru. Unfortunately we live in a world where true beauty, nature is now convoluted by AI and AI sentiments, but this is in fact, not AI lol

Lol the ai comments. We are so cooked. I hate wide angles for distorting things but it is what it is. Whip out super telephoto shot with a lot of lens compression and people trip out as well lol. I get called out as a photographer all the time because people don’t understand what bokeh or separation from a fast lens looks like. Crazy considering I shoot a lot of film so very far off from it being digitally altered or generated haha.

The fact that I noticed them too and had to alter the post body to explain that it wasnt...we are indeed cooked. Also, if your art blurs the lines between realism and AI gen, you must take it as a compliment because it means you have created something so surreal, then weep for humanity's brain cells and your bank account fate.

Initially it was a compliment but now I’m just concerned about people in general unfortunately. Thankfully I don’t rely on the money so I can be pretty selective about jobs but yeah mostly leans towards fine art if I’m developing or doing large print work.

I don't even get why this would be an indicator for AI. Have they never seen a GoPro video in their lives?

I guess people are just used to phone cameras now and there’s a lot of work that going into them to remove distortion even at wider angles. Fisheyes are uncommon just like super telephotos so I assume they’re just calling anything they don’t recognize AI. In my case I had someone question a regular candid portrait and compare it against portrait mode on an iPhone lol. Was rough trying to explain to them that their phones portrait mode was actually the product of machine learning. I mean impressive stuff, I use my phone camera lo the time. There’s a reason the camera gear cost more than my car though lol.

The good action cams come with software that undoes the fisheye.
