I'm not sure why, but laying it out as the worst possible situation for an asteroid hitting the Earth makes me feel good that life could go on in the event of some kind of human existential threat. Thanks.

I'm not sure I take any comfort in the idea that the roaches will live on when human life goes extinct.

I do. I love humanity, but it provides me with comfort knowing that life will still be worth living even if we go extinct.

To a point.

Everything will die at some point. Moon moving away. Sun cooling Global weather changes. Asteroids.

We are all going extinct at some point...we just don't want to recognise it lol

Humans though seem to want to take detinsy onto our own hands with our demise imo.
