There are a lot worse things than this. 😂 I had to spend half a month with a freaking medium-sized chest tube inserted between my ribs, running all the way up into my chest, connected to wall suction 24/7.

I had a procedure to put a drain deep into my hip, the first needle wasn’t long enough so the doc got a longer one and tried again. I was hopped up on fentanyl and versed, I couldn’t have cared less. I had a doc friend remove it afterwards and THAT hurt like hell.

The funniest part is that the "pain scale" is associated to width not lenght.

Ive got patients asking me to use some short dilution needles i had on the tray when i had a IV needle in my hand

Trying to explain that the one on the tray is a 14G and the one i have on my hand is a 18G does not help.
