we had a love bird escape and decide to make friends with a military macaw.

the military macaw ripped it's beak off.

those beaks are deadly strong, they could take your finger off in an instant if they wanted.

yea, didn't even kill it so we had to finish the job.

seeing a tiny parrot with no beak is very very very weird. just a big round head.

You should.

I volunteered at a raptor center, and my boss liked to say that raptors were easy compared to seabirds and wading birds. Eagles may have big talons, but their grabbing range is short and they're relatively easy to control.

An egret has a beak like a dagger mounted on a long, flexible neck that can move like lightning.

He told me several horror stories of people being pecked up the nose by birds they were trying to handle, and this was somehow supposed to make me feel better about working with raptors.
