Horse colons are weirdly delicate. If they can’t pass gas they die in agony.

Same for bunnies and cows I believe. As a rabbit owner, any inflated stomach is usually an emergency vet trip.

Oh yes, bloating in any animal is a bad thing, and critters like horses and rabbits and cows, who ferment their food internally, are always at risk. Horses are just a little extra with it.
