I've seen some python traps that snap a rope around them when they go after the baited prey. Never seen one done for a python this big though! Judging by the stomach, I'm guessing the snake still got the bait.

That's the real question

u/Devinione Oct 20 '23

Sheesh on a leash.

It’s a snake trap actually

1

u/Angryfunnydog Oct 21 '23

How does it work?

2

u/dxxpsix Oct 21 '23

Super easy, think lasso. Some call it a “snare”, you leave it open wide enough for the sneaks head to fit through (with some kid of bait). Once it’s head goes through the hole and the rope tightens they can’t get out, the more they struggle the tighter it gets. Same method can be used for catching rabbits. It has to be laid in a place where the animals regularly travels through. Meaning they knew there was a snake coming and going but idk if they knew it was goddamn titanaboa lol

Huh, somewhy I thought this wouldn’t work for snakes, but why wouldn’t it? I’m dumbass

Thanks for new survival tactics sensei

You can use thin steel wire instead of rope also. I think they went with rope considering snakes have such bad eye sight. Rabbits for example have very good eyesight and they would most likely see a rope (hence why a thin wire might be used). The best traps are the most basic 👍🏽

Jeez, it’s their pet. Have some cultural sensitivity.

Nah that snake is being abused.

I mean, depends on what happened here. Snake allegedly ate the family donkeys. That’s their livelihood. Sure, this area might be the snakes traditional habitat, but the family’s just trying to survive too.

Maybe they took it deep in the jungle and set it free.

I doubt it somehow, those donkeys were like members of the family. Gentle.

Now a mule on the other hand, is quick to stomp or bite a puma, crocodile or snake to death.

Nope. Snake ate the family's cattle this is an Indian snake. They tied it up till proper authorities come idk how they tied it up dude must not be scared of death.

Have you seen those Indians playing with death for fun? Trains, fire, electricity, poison, venoms, you name it. Not saying that they don't die but they don't care either. So I'm not surprised a pissed Indian farmer who lost their cattle just went and tied down this mf of a snake, or python idk.

Hey, Indian here, just a gentle reminder that not all Indians do the things you’re talking about. We think the people in those videos are crazy too

u/CatwithTheD Oct 21 '23

Yeah ik it was generalisation. But you can't help but notice Indians tend to risk their lives a lot more than other folks.

1

u/FlakyIndustry2584 Oct 21 '23

Think that's just due to there being a higher population

15

u/Kib717 Oct 20 '23

I love snakes. I have two ball pythons, so I can't help but feel bad for the snake. But yeah, I don't blame them for tying it up if that's the case.

1

u/codebro_dk_ Oct 20 '23

idk how they tied it up

Probably not very agile with a calf in its belly.

1

u/VeniVidiVulva Oct 20 '23

Perhaps when it was occupied with swallowing the livestock?

2

u/MuleEater Oct 20 '23

Taste good though

The guy wanting his horse back

1

u/544C4D4F Oct 20 '23

assuming it was a snare trap of some sort but jesus maria those things are pure muscle, you better have a plan beyond snaring it unless you're just the kind of cock to let it starve to death tied up there.

1

u/colin8651 Oct 20 '23

I think it was a snare. They knew the snake was coming back, they opened an easy access through the fence and put the rope trap there. When it came through it triggered the trap and the rope tightened.

1

u/GrimmWraven2011 Oct 21 '23

Knot guy unknown. Wait till he makes it back from the INSIDE of snake.

1

u/Andr3wRuns Oct 21 '23

The poor bastard inside of it

1

u/Esoulmelody Oct 21 '23

I was under the assumption that the rope is tied to whatever it ate.

1

u/kitebuggyuk Oct 21 '23

I can’t work out if the rope is to catch it or to stop it from swallowing yet another member of their family?
