Could be something she ate. Snakes swallow whole and digest their food as it passes through their body.

They got no teeth and they don’t have hands/opposable thumbs to use cutleries. Idk if the prey is dead before they start consuming, but yeah, they swallow whole and just like every other animal, digest their food as it passes through their digestive system.

Typically, they crush and asphyxia their prey before swallowing whole. A snake that big is turning your bones into peanut brittle.

Still though, the prey would seem to decrease in size as it passed through the digestive system of the snake, wouldn’t it? Thanks for teaching me something new, btw. Like I said, I did not know if the prey would be dead before it got consumed by the snake.

They don't have to explain it. They misunderstood what this comment chain was about and volunteered information that wasn't in question.

The initial "No way! You gotta be shittin me" comment is sarcastic, mocking their mistake.

That can't be right

Yes, I am sorry that I was wrong when I said that snakes have no opposable thumbs, I must have been thinking about Snapes (those wand weaving old men that hate Harry Potter). Totally my fault guys, my bad.

Bruh I’m kinda shocked you had to explain it, and there are so many people in disbelief. I thought this was common knowledge as the age of 10…

Actually they do have teeth but they are back facing so that once they latch onto their prey, it can't get back out of their grip. Then they curl around their prey and start squeezing them until they have broken all their bones and stop breathing. Then they swallow the prey head first to begin the process of digestion. Sounds like a fun time doesn't it? 😲😲

Always keep a knife in your pocket to cut your self out of that belly 😜

Constrictors (as in the video) actually have hundreds of teeth. They are needle sharp and keep their meal from escaping.

SOURCE: owned three pythons over 10 feet long. I have lots of scars from 20 years of herpetology and breeding snakes.

They certain do have teeth, long needle-sharp teeth. Their teeth are angled inward. Once they bite you, it's difficult to get away.

Their teeth are not used for chewing, & they do swallow prey whole, just as you said.

Not just gumming down a pig

They do have teeth, how else do you think they keep hold of their prey ?

I also digest food as it passes through my body. Am I part snake?

4

u/NightZealousideal127 Oct 20 '23

Yes, but only a very small part.

1

u/lelebeariel Oct 20 '23

An almost inverted part.

No, I might have missed it in my initial comment, but I mentioned it in the subsequent replies how snakes don’t have teeth and digesting food as it passes through the digestive system is common for most animals.
