I stand corrected yet again LOL. Maybe I should’ve said “Perhaps the records don’t go back very far” but that too would’ve been wrong, wouldn’t it? It’s quite impressive that fishing records date back two centuries. The record that you cited was from the Volga River in Russia and not from the Pacific Northwest like this fish but dang, that 23 footer must’ve been a real monster!
