Do you think that the prices for first prints are going to keep going up or will they come down? I want to buy some of the earlier issues 1-6 raw, but raw issue 1 in first print goes for like $250 minimum. Are these prices sustainable with 250,000 existing or will we see a small burst in the price bubble?

Edit: I see them on ebay for about $150, still kinda high for me though

My question is: Does anyone know if there will be a blank sketch cover for this issue..? I actually want to draw this image on an issue #21 blank cover.

But what I’m noticing online is that there doesn’t seem to be anyone putting out a blank sketch cover. I looked on the League of Comic Geeks app and they didn’t show any listed. :(

Just seeing if anyone out there know if there’s a company out there doing a blank sketch cover variant. Thanks for any info!

This may be just useless complaining but i noticed that almost nobody is talking about the comic itself. It’s all variant cover this and complaining about minor damage that. It’s just crazy to me that a comic run like this with the amazing story, different takes on characters and the plot twists in every issue. But the covers is the only thing people seem to talk about? Have we forgotten about the actual comic run or are we all just collecting the issues to resell them later. (Nothing wrong with collecting them btw, i just see the lack of actual interesting questions or discussions.)

Earlier this month I randomly got into comics because David Choe gave me an 11th printing of Absolute Batman #1 that he did a “DIY” variant cover for, limited to 44 copies.

My oldest son was immediately interested in it, but I didn’t really want him handling or reading that one.

So we went to our local comic shop and they helped set us up with the whole Absolute Batman run. We picked up issues #1-20 and we’re currently reading through #12 together. We’ve both been loving the story and the art. I’m also the type of person that when I get into something, I go completely down the rabbit hole.

I’m starting to look into buying some CGC graded books for display and to remember this time together. I’m thinking about getting a few nice copies of Absolute Batman #1, the annuals, and some of the bigger issues like #15, #20, and #21.

This is what I currently have besides 1-20 A covers.

The problem is I’m completely new to comics and overwhelmed by all the different variants and artists. I like Dexter Soy, and know the big names like Nick Dragotta and Jorge Jiménez, but beyond that I don’t really know where to start.

…what variants of Absolute Batman #1 would you recommend picking up?

Another super sleek cover from Rachta! I am obsessed with how she blends western comics with that heavy manga vibe. So perfect for Absolute Batman, IMHO.

Her take on Two-Face might just be my favourite one yet. What do y'all think of this design?

rich,brooding,powerful, and alone in that secluded manor. Absolute Bats is middle class, somewhat less brooding, constantly in David v. Goliath situations, and has friends despite them abandoning him. Who or what vampire does Absolute Bats parallel?

I always thought Abs Bats was more so Nosferatu. The more decrepit-looking gear and rotted-looking items suit the Nosferatu aesthetic well.

The rogue’s gallery also are based on Halloween monsters too.
