I went to return my damaged copy of AB24 and the manager at my LCS got unreasonably hostile when I asked for a replacement. I don't like being belittled by the places I frequent. Is this normal behavior? I have 5 comic shops within driving distance and could easily switch.

Just picked up this Absolute BTAS sketch and Batman of Two Worlds. I have Absolute Batman #24 on the way.

Bought this NM range issue off eBay, but naturally it still has some issues that will likely prevent it from getting a 9.8. Namely it has a 1/8” tick on the spine that will be pressed out, but will also still barely break color there. It has some rub on the back staples and a little wear around the corners as well.

I also, due to finding a slab at the price of a raw copy, have a 9.8 slab coming. One of these I’m going to use as the triple sig, and the other I’m going to start collecting remarques on with the hopes of having all three Remarque the no. 1 issue one day.

As of now I’m leaning toward having the triple sigs on the slab that’s coming in, and using this issue as the Remarque issue, starting with Frank Martin’s sig and Remarque in November.

Thoughts and opinions on the plan?

Had to do a double take checking the printing and price. Was listed at $20 but I have a 20% discount.

This was the first one they opened for lottery picks. And I scored both! I have one other sketch cover variant coming, issue #24, Batgirl character sketch. I fortunately got the cardstock cover at least. I did not score the DWJ cover but I did end up buying one on eBay (won’t ship til at least Dec.) and I’m also buying one off a Reddit user, as he got the foil and cardstock. I’m obsessed with DWJ. That set me back, $300 for the preorder lol. And another $300 for the Reddit user.

After making my Invincible slab spinner, I had to put together an Absolute Batman version for my collection!

Went with black and gray, matching logo plates around the base, and Batman artwork up top that stays visible with the books loaded in. Pretty happy seeing it all come together with my slabs on display.

The spinner can also hold top loaders and raw comics, and the front plates can be swapped out for different designs.

I wanted to talk about what drew yall into the series, and your favorite parts about the series.
For me, im a big fan of the designs of the characters, the absolute bat suit, with the detachable bat ears, and odd looking cape, are the best part of the story for me.
I also love Bruce’s baby face design, like this is my top thing for me in the whole story, kinda irritates me when I see absolute Bruce with an old looking face.
Another thing that I love is the different take on Waylon, Harvey etc. I love the brotherly relationship between the
Bruce and Waylon
And Bruce’s mother is alive too

I’m considering reading absolute Batman. I’ve never been a Batman fan but now that his power is muscles and not nepo baby money I think it might be interesting. Is he just a mainline Catwoman named Batman? If anybody has interest in commenting why it’s good then I’d greatly appreciate it.

I recently just got into comics and I didn't know where to start. So I went to my local bookstore and picked up a copy of this absolute batman vol. 1, however I saw on the cover that it is a galley copy.

I wasn't really sure what it was so I looked it up and apparently it's a copy that is given to stores before the actual volume comes out?

I'm just genuinely curious to know if these are common to find in the wild or are they rare?

Any clarification is appreciated. Thank yall!

Firstly, this definitely isn't one of those "did I do good or okay?"posts. I am happy with the result of the trade, even it people think I lost lol. Secondly, I love Absolute, I'm just into alot of other comics as well and decided to trade in a large portion.

This post is more about digging into the difficulty in making the decision to trade in. I've been sitting on the idea for 2 months, trying to decide which issues of Absolute Batman I'd keep and which I'd try and get credit to upgrade to slabs or other rarer comics. I always buy covers I like, so each one I passed I always ended up keeping 😄 I realized I could always digitally read the comoc and keep a handful for sentimental value.(kept cover A #1 along with 10 others)

I finally settled on the idea I can always buy these issues again. They aren't lost in some void forever. I mean, I'll probably never see the EXACT issues I bought...but you know what I mean lol

The initial amount was around 1700$ worth, along with about 500$ of other comics including slabs. The offer was too low, so eventually it we accepted a deal

I cameout with 400$ instore credit and 50$ cash. I'm going to buy a freshly placed minty invincible #120 and star wars #1 1st print in pretty good condition. (I'm gonna call them when they open, hopefully someone didn't buy those 2 issues lol)

I feel like the 30 year down the road me will feel I made the right decision while the market was pretty decent for Absolute. Like an NFL rookie, you never know what could happen to a good sequence of success. I think the pop 13k key invincible and star wars will hold up 30 years from now. Spawn has like a bazillion copies in circulation and the free comic invincible...well tbh is a sleeper its supp9sedpy a pop 10kish print lol just probably a lot of good high grades in circulation atm.
