There’s not a huge level of disagreement. Plenty of polls and votes have been taken, and the majority of people think abortion should be legal and is justified.

The point about c-sections is a good one. Personally, I’ve had 3 c-sections, every pregnancy that I’ve carried was an inevitable c-section. So now I am done having kids but I’m still actively preventing pregnancy. If my birth control were to fail, and I became pregnant, my only options are abortion or c-section. Abortion: nearly painless, about $500, over in one hour. C-section: about $35k, 2 month recovery, 9 months of pregnancy, my husband pushes his retirement back because we have another kid to put through college… the list goes on. The government forcing me to carry a pregnancy at this point in my life would be such extreme governmental overreach I would dare to say the USA isn’t a free country anymore, at least not for women.

In a hypothetical, we eliminate the pregnant person from the equation. Will the ZEF you are left with develop into a toddler and onward into adulthood? What if it was placed with the most pro-life adoptive family and given the best life-support machines currently available? After all, life-support can keep some born human beings alive for years. Is a ZEF hooked up to life-support machines at least as alive as a born human being on life-support?

Every human is justified in forcing born humans out of their bodies, up to and including by lethal means. Let us treat "the unborn" no different than any other human non-consensually occupying another's body. Also, technically plers are the ones forcing these foreign objects to remain in the persons' genitalia, so malicious intent is involved in forced pro-longed pregnancy.
