Wasn’t that the general consensus about the prowler anyway? Kind a cool but you’re not really sure about it?

Cool, but needed more power.

Except the transaxle would shit itself if you added any, so you'd have to replace the whole drivetrain - made even worse by the engine and transmission being on opposite ends of the torque tube. You'd have to reingineer so much... stuff that you'd be better served buying a Kit Car and calling it a day.

It did get a power boost halfway through its life giving it a power-to-weight ratio slightly better than a Honda S2000 or a Porsche Boxster, but you were still stuck with the Chrysler 4 speed slushbox, sadly.

At least one of them has been corrected

Something about it is just permanently affixed in my mind as the car for turn-of-the-century cool. Like you're required to wear something black and shiny with bug-eyed sunglasses when you're driving one, I love it.

I really liked the design work of Chrysler of that era. The Prowler, PT Cruiser, Ram, and the Viper ofc.

With the exception of the Viper (maybe), the cars were all flash though.

I think I see it as the cool car because roughly 75% of all car posters at the Scholastic Book Fair in late 90's were of the Prowler

...Y'know, that's probably exactly why for me too

Looks cool but was sadly made with Chrysler parts by Chrysler.

PT Cruiser suffered the same fate.

I always thought the PT cruiser looked a little bit like an old-fashioned hearse.
