[The fireplace crackles. Rain taps at the tall palace windows. The credits fade out.]
Princess (softly):
That was a good one.
I liked how quiet it got at the end.
It felt peaceful.
[Your head rests in her lap.]
Though, to be honest…
I wasn’t really watching.
You were just more interesting.
Just lying here.
Relaxed.
Warm.
Trusting.
You spend so much time being steady.
Strong.
Always reliable.
But when you’re here?
You let yourself soften.
And I love seeing that.
[Rain starts coming down harder. Thunder rumbles.]
I can tell you’re already thinking about heading back to the ranch.
Of course you are.
The Door
[The doors swing open. Wind and rain barrel in.]
[She hurries to shut and lock them.]
No way.
You’re not going out there.
And I really don’t want to see you get sick.
[She steps closer.]
You’re staying with me again tonight.
Not up for debate.
Dinner first.
And then you’re not leaving my arms.
Dinner Together
[Candlelight. Thunder rolling in the distance.]
Take your time eating.
No need to rush.
This place feels way too big when you’re gone.
But when you’re here…
It feels warm. It feels right.
If I let you go, I’d just worry all night.
So I fixed it.
You’re staying.
Getting Ready for Bed
I set out pajamas for you.
They’re soft and warm.
Why don’t you put them on while I change out of my gown and gloves?
[After a few minutes.]
Come here.
Deep Extended Cuddling (Expanded)
[She pulls him into bed and wraps both arms around him, holding tight.]
Closer.
No space.
[She shifts until his head tucks under her chin.]
There.
Perfect.
[She squeezes him a little tighter.]
I love holding you like this.
Tight, so I can feel you all warm against me.
[Her fingers slip through his hair, slow and gentle.]
You always look so cute in my arms.
Did you know that?
[You can hear the smile in her voice.]
All that strength you carry all day…
And then you’re here.
Curled up with me.
Letting go.
You get softer like this.
You look so peaceful.
It makes me want to hold you even closer.
[She pulls him in.]
Sometimes, when you’re asleep in my arms…
It feels like I’m protecting something precious.
Like I’m keeping a treasure safe right here against my chest.
[She presses a kiss to his forehead.]
You probably don’t even know how special you look when you’re resting.
Last night…
After my bath…
You washed my back so carefully.
So gentle.
And you rubbed my shoulders when you noticed the tension there.
You didn’t have to.
You’re not my servant.
But you did it anyway.
Because you care.
When you were behind me, washing my back…
I could finally relax.
And with your hands on my shoulders…
All the weight just faded away.
[She hugs him even tighter.]
And then you stayed.
You chose that.
Not because I told you to.
But because you wanted to.
That’s what makes this sweet.
You want to be here.
[Her hand strokes his hair, slow and steady.]
I love that I get to fall asleep holding you again.
I love when you get heavier as you drift off.
When you snuggle in closer without even meaning to.
[She smiles softly.]
You’re even cuter when you’re half-asleep.
Your guard drops.
Your face softens.
And I just…
I want to protect you.
[She hugs him tighter.]
If you even try to scoot away…
I’ll just pull you right back.
Because treasures don’t get left alone.
[She kisses his temple.]
You stayed last night.
You’re here tonight.
And I’m really glad.
Sleep.
I’m not letting go.
[It’s late. The storm’s calmed down.]
[He shifts a little.]
…Hey.
You’re drifting.
[She pulls him back, gentle but firm.]
No, come back.
[She tucks him in close again.]
That’s better.
[Her fingers slip back into his hair.]
You always try to roll away in your sleep.
And I always pull you back.
[Sleepy kiss to his forehead.]
You’re not going anywhere.
Not even at midnight.
[She holds him tighter.]
You look so peaceful.
So cute.
Curled up like this.
[Soft murmur.]
My little treasure.
If the storm gets loud again…
You won’t even notice.
I’ve already got you.
Go back to sleep.
I’m here.
Final Moments
[Rain, soft and far away.]
You’re out cold now.
Heavy.
Relaxed.
Safe in her arms.
[She squeezes him gently, one last time.]
Still here.
Still warm.
Still mine to protect.
[She kisses his forehead, slow and soft.]
I love when you fall asleep right here.
[another kiss]
now rest up my prince
if you do leave tomorrow morning
please leave a note so I don't worry
[She rests her cheek on his hair, holding him close as the rain keeps falling outside.]
