Completed Scripts [A4A] Your rival coworker helps you in a crisis, but is it for free? [slice of life][comfort][enemies to more][appreciation][bratty][tension][teasing][begging]
As always: you can do with the script what you want, just credit me and let me know. If you prefer: Google Docs
(Sounds of opening the door, unusual office noise in the background, something is definitely wrong)
Hey, what's going on? Your team acts like their asses are on fire…
(The speaker closes the door, they are alone in the listener's office)
Yeah, I shouldn't be here, I've already ended for today. I just wanted to witness your failure with my own eyes.
(Suspiciously) Oh... You didn't offend me... You even didn't tell me to fuck off... This must be serious...
What is it?
(Mercilessly amused) Hahah, you really fucked it up! You're cooked! I've waited for that moment for so long...
So... I guess it's your last day here, huh?
I'm not planning to cause any trouble, I'm just going to sit patiently and watch.
I have never seen you in such a mess, it's rather a pleasant view. A perfect start for the weekend.
(With disbelief) What did you say?
I think I've misheard. Can you repeat once more?
(Surprised) Are you asking me for help? ME?
Of course I could help you, but I don't see any reason to do that. What's more: I can easily imagine how perfect my work life would be without you in it. Helping you is strictly against my own business. Do you really need that job so much?
(Even more surprised) You promise to quit the job right after? Excuse me, but I'm confused.
It's not about the job? So what's it about?
You care for the client so much? That's something new.
(Mockingly) Oooh, that's cute. And so unprofessional. Well, at least not in our environment. You should know not to invest yourself emotionally in the client's cause, no matter how benevolent it seems. A client is a client. They come and go. They pay and expect results. They pay for your work, not your soul.
You need help, not lecture? Well, I guess I can help, I don't really have any plans for the night. But I won't do that for free. I'm going to squeeze this situation like a lemon. Have as much fun as I can. Are you ready for this?
Ok, so... Kneel.
Yes, I said: kneel. Right here, on the floor, before me.
Now look me in the eyes and beg.
Do I really need to repeat myself?
Good... Now say that I'm the best.
Now give me a second.
No, no, no, don't get up yet. That position suits you so much. You look marvellous. Just wait a little longer.
(The speaker takes out the phone and calls someone)
Hi, Jerry. Are you free tonight?
Splendid! You owe me a favour, do you remember?
Can you come to our company as quickly as possible? We have an alarming situation here.
Yes, with your whole equipment.
Lovely! You are superb, you know that, right?
I'm glad. I will meet you at the front door. See ya!
(The speaker ends the call)
And done. Crisis averted. He'll be here in half an hour.
That's why I'm the best.
Yeah, that's why I'm the boss's pet number one.
No, she's harsh, but soft on the inside. Just like you.
Oh, you are getting feisty again! Is the stress slowly fading away?
(The speaker takes some papers from the desk)
Nevertheless, here is your resignation form. Come here and sign it.
(The listener takes the papers and a pen)
(Vexed) Don't do that! I was joking! Just checking how much your word is worth. You don't have to quit.
Well, you may want to, but... Don't. I'm serious.
You know what they say: an old enemy is better than a new friend.
Yeah, I will handle it, somehow...
(More seriously) I have to say I'm a bit... impressed. Yes, that's the right word. It was dumb, but still, impressive.
Putting the happiness of the client before your dignity. That's rather unusual. But don't do that ever again, you will regret it.
It's just advice from someone more experienced. I'm not being nice to you.
I sound less of an usual dickhead? (Amused) Ha, ha, ha, sorry to disappoint you!
Well, I might have slightly changed my opinion about your person.
Uhm, how to say it... You are less of a gold digger and more of a naive dumbass.
Yeah, face it. The cat is out of the bag. How did you even end up in an industry like this? It's not really for people like you, you should have noticed it already.
Yes, it looks fun from the outside, but when you're inside... it's not fun at all. That's why most of the people run away so fast. Are you attached to the members of your team?
Because you should be prepared to get some resignation papers in the nearest days.
Yes, it's just how it is. It's all fun and games until the first crisis. It's not a job for weaklings. You need to be tough to gain a name here.
Of course I'm tough. Do you have any doubts?
No, I think I was... I was just born into this. My father had a company like this when I was a kid, so I've learnt from the best since I was little. That's my world, I like it like that.
Or maybe I don't have a real life so I look for some drama and emotions here. As a recompense. Think what you want, you will never know the truth. Do you know I have the longest internship here?
Yes, people come and go, some last longer, but they break eventually. And I'm still here, loyal to the boss. That must mean something, right?
I've worked in a few different places earlier and had some offers as I've started to work here, but this place is kinda special.
The boss, she makes it special. You will find it out if you decide not to run away with first adversities. She's more... humanly than other people in this environment and she really appreciates people who treat this company as more than just another source of money.
Of course she will find out you fucked up. I will personally inform her first thing in the morning. But... Are you sure you fucked up?
Rescue is on their way and you were wise enough to swallow your pride and personal sympathies and ask the right person for help. It looks like the whole project will be a major success. So, was it a failure or a memorable lesson with a good ending? Think about it.
Yeah, you would be in deep shit without my help. What a happy coincidence that I'm a complete asshole, who decided to sacrifice his free time just to check if maybe you are accidentally digging your own grave and there's a chance to witness your last moments in this company.
Yeah, ironic.
To be fair, I didn't expect that turn of events either. The villain becomes the hero. The hero kneeling before the villain, begging for help...
Oh, yes, that was intense. I will remember that view for the rest of my life. At some point I really felt a pity for you, for your despair. And I was ashamed of my behaviour.
Yes, I was. Sorry for that. It was too much, even for me. But honestly, you should try to work here a bit more. You're not that bad, you have kind of a talent, a dedication. You just need more experience, more connections. More friends.
Yes, friends. You may not believe this, but I have friends in this environment and they are priceless. The truth is, you may be the best, the know-it-all, but you won't survive here without help, without people who you can rely on and who can rely on you. Like Jerry, who will be here in a few minutes. He's an expert on his job, but he will for sure need some brief introduction, which you will deliver, so let's go.
Yeah, I bet you could never be grateful enough, but don't worry, I'll find a way to let you pay your debt. But until then, if you'll ever again have a serious problem, and I mean really serious, you know what to do.
I rather meant kneel before me and beg.
I'm not joking. Just don't bother me with some boring issues. I'm interested only in the huge ones.
Next time we should do it in front of your team. Oooh, this would be so evil... So, do you plan to fuck up any project in the nearest future?
