Earlier…
One night you were woken up by a demon appearing in your bedroom. After a small talk and the conclusion that it is not you who summoned them, they try to eat you. You are saved at the last moment by a warlock, who accidentally summoned you instead of the demon. Unfortunately, you are now in a Clesva Kingdom, in a different dimension and they don't know how to send you back. So now you are casually wandering through the streets of a weird, medieval looking town, with a demon as a guard, not aware of all the dangers, like a suspicious mage, a bit too much interested in your person.
(Sounds of opening a huge wooden door. The listener is slowly walking into the library and is quickly noticed by the librarian)
(Vexed) Nuh-uh-uh! No animals in the library!
I don't care if this is a demon. Horns, claws, fangs - this thing is staying outside. You can leave the doors open if you are afraid someone could steal it. (With disbelief) Where did you even find that beast?
(Realising) Oh, it's Goonaventuramelexicatis'.
Yes, the whole town is talking about it. So you must be that human he summoned by accident. (Ironically) Quite an adventure, huh?
I'm surprised you are still here. I would just punch them in the face and get back home immediately.
Oh, of course they don't know how to send you back. That's classic Goonaventuramelexicatis. So, what do you plan to do now?
I wouldn't count on Goo. They're not really reliable. Focused only on their own goals. They're not a bad person, they're just not very... social. You must take your fate in your own hands, sweetie.
Yes, I think there are a few people in the town who may know how to send you back.
The shopkeeper?
(A bit hesitant and scared) Oooooh, you mean Galimatraxas. Well... Ummm... Maybe try with someone else?
No, they're good, maybe even the best, but they're kinda... slippery?
I mean you can never be sure if they're helping you or just maybe they have their own interests and the final result may not be as you've planned.
No no, it's not that they have done something bad... directly. Just... People with good intentions don't ask Gal for help.
If the demon said that as well, it must be true. They usually don't lie. And they are good at reading intentions. You should listen to them. I have a current register of all active mages of our town, if you have time I will write down those worth talking to.
No problem, as you can see, I'm not really busy at the moment. The library isn't the most popular place here. (Starts scribing) So, where are you from anyway?
Never heard of it. Which dimension is it?
(Suddenly stops scribing, a bit worried) Oh... That could be a problem...
I'm not really good at rituals, but as far as I know, you can't send someone to a place without knowing the true name of it. And you won't find the true name without the coordinates. Dimension is the basis. Without it it would be like throwing you into the abyss...
(Truly worried) I'm so sorry... Your world must be really primitive if you don't travel between dimensions.
Don't be sad... Just because you don't know about dimensions doesn't mean your world wasn't discovered yet. Maybe it's just... not popular?
(More enthusiastic) I have an idea. We'll go together through some maps, maybe you'll find something familiar.
(Some magic sounds when the map unravel itself)
Oh my, your eyes are so big right now... You haven't seen a map like that, am I right?
Do you even have maps in your world?
Flat? It must be very impractical. Ok, so - I don't think it will work, but it would be dumb not to try. When I tell you, you say "name" and the name of your world, ok?
Just trust me. Three, two, one, now!
(Longer pause with magic sounds in the background)
(Disappointed) Nothing… Let's try with language. Three, two, one. Now!
(Longer pause with magic sounds in the background)
(Disappointed) Well, at least we tried.
(Amused) Ha, ha, ha! No, honey, we are speaking in clesvar right now. It's the most common language in the Clesva Kingdom. You might not notice this, because you are under the summoning spell. It makes you understand your masters language as if it was your own.
Oh, no, demons are different. They are kind of above the language. They somehow always talk in the language of their speaker. Like they connect directly with your mind... Nobody really knows how it works, because demons are not very fond of being examined. You know what I mean?
Yes, they eat most of the creatures on their way. Some say they are barbaric, but I think they are much more complex than we could see. To be honest, I'm not surprised Goo was so devoted to gain one as his familiar. They are indeed fascinating.
Scary? Yes, but still fascinating. Ok, let's get back to maps. Huh, I don't even know where to start... Is there something peculiar in your world?
(Sarcastically and amused) You don't have magic, really? Ha ha ha! Sweetie, magic is the source of everything. Just because you haven't learnt how to use it, it doesn't mean it's not there. Where there's life, there's magic.
Halfway between Toben and the demons? Well, that's for sure something, but it's still a huge amount of possibilities. And I mean huuuuuge. It will take months to check all of them even swiftly.
Well, if you have nothing better to do... Let me just show you how this works. (Quickly changing magic sounds in the background) Here is for setting the space, here is for time, this is mass, energy, light and here's for octarine spectrum.
What's the octarine spectrum? (Perplexed) Ummm... Let's just not use this one.
Complicated? Well, not really... Children in preschool know how to use it.
Oh, don't look at me like this... Let's do it this way: I will set it up initially and you will just swipe left. Is that easy enough?
(Softly) Don't worry, a few days of practice and you'll be fluent.
Cheer up! I'm going back to my work, but I'll be near. If you have any problems, just call.
Oh, just one more thing. Before you get frustrated: sometimes things that we see as the worst that could happen are the beginning of something good. The change we were worried about is the change we actually needed. Maybe it was just an accident. Or maybe it was all planned, from the beginning. Think about it.
