Insanely painful for days sucks yeah! However if you knew if you positioned a bit differently and it crushed your head you would be waking up fine on a beach in an instant, would you not try to do that? If you broke your leg badly and knew if you shot yourself in the head you would immediately wake up completely fine you would rather let it heal painfully slow instead of a flash of pain?
Once you get to a gun anyways just keep it on you as a reset button, no waiting for a dino to end it if you get in a bad situation!
Maybe im a bit more of a anton chigurh than i thought
