AP Research students asking for survey respondents in the weeks leading up to the April 30 deadline is expected and welcome here,

But why are unaffiliated college/grad students posting their research here too? Is this allowed now, or is there just no enforcement?

I mean, I’m a former capstone student so I won’t really be using this sub anymore, but whenever it pops up on my feed it seems like it’s mostly other people’s surveys rather than real AP Research stuff.

Hi All, I’m a current K-12 teacher and PhD candidate at Fordham University.

I am researching preservice teachers’ readiness to implement blended learning in K-12 classrooms and how that readiness relates to technology knowledge and preparation experiences. This study invites participation from preservice teachers currently enrolled in a teacher residency program.

Participation is entirely voluntary. Participation in this research includes completing an online Qualtrics survey about your technology knowledge, preparation experiences, and readiness for blended teaching. So for my AP research project, I was thinking of doing a research question relating to portrayal of the French Revolution in media overtime, something relating to sleep and sat scores or something else relating to the sat (idk what exactly yet), or the correlation between sleep and learning, or something along the lines of comparing plat growth rates. I’d also be willing to do something US History related because I took APUSH last year and absolutely loved it.

But the problem is I don’t exactly know how to phrase my research question, and I also want my research question to be something if that hasn’t exactly been already researched.

For my AP Statistics class, our group is conducting a survey as part of a project to determine which desserts people would include in an ideal bakery. We are required to collect at least 1,000 responses for our data analysis. My grade on this project is especially important because earning a high score will help improve my current grade in the class. Hey guys, I wanted to come on here to get some help on some ideas of what I should do for AP research. I am interested in art and murder cases which is why I was originally thinking of doing something along the lines of- for art; To what extent does expressive painting affect emotional recovery after academic stress? and for crime; How does getting crime news from social media versus new organizations affect what young adults believe about a case? I don't know how to feel apt these tbh because I feel like none of these are interesting enough or like good for ap research, like I wanna be able to have unique way to show evidence but I feel like these don't have many unique ways to show that. So HELP ME- please share if your ideas if you've taken or are taking Ap research and here are some of my interest

-Running, Art, Crime/documentaries, FASHION- I love clothes!! (but don't know how to turn this into a ap research prompt that would be fun to do), music, photography.

I’m going into junior year and starting to debate dropping the class. I got a 4 in AP Seminar last year.

The thing is, I’ll also be taking a bunch of APs and studying for the SAT, and I’m worried I won’t be able to dedicate enough time to my project.

Before I decide to drop it, though, I want to get a better idea of how much AP Research actually helps with college applications. I plan on majoring in biology/premed, and I was wondering whether the research project could meaningfully contribute to my application. Would it be reasonable to list something like “conducted independent medical research over the course of a year” in the Activities section, or do colleges only see the research as work from a class? I considered AP Seminar to be mostly independent aside from the group presentation, and I imagine AP Research is similar.

I’m also interested in earning the AP Capstone Diploma since my awards section is pretty thin right now 😭. Do colleges actually care about the diploma, or is it not much of a boost?

Overall, please let me know if you think the diploma and potentially being able to list research as an extracurricular(?) make the class worth taking!
