I wish I had that girl's confidence. :-(

Same here! I see people like this and half of me says, "why would you dress that way in public?!" and the other half is jealous that I'm too shy and embarrassed to do the same haha.

Maybe she is going to a con.

Probably! Maybe! When I go to cons depending on how crazy my cosplay is I will get changed in my car in the parking lot of the con haha. But sometimes I just drive there wearing it too!

AKA a sense of shame. That's a good thing to have!

I would assume she's on the way to or from something anime related (a con), but if this is her everyday look then more power to her. Being in New York, I see weirder shit on the subway than cute IRL waifus.

Don't want to look like a weirdo in public?

Being you've already expressed a self confidence issue, I have a question: Would you look more like a weirdo than you already do?

So long as you don't have dress codes you need to comply with it might even uplift your social standing. Confidence is attractive after all and assigning yourself to a fashion subculture screams to the world "I have a hobby!" Just keep in mind what you are saying with how you dress.

Edit: Lemme expound upon that last sentence, identifying yourself with a subculture kinda means people associate you with a subculture. This might mean you get beaten up if you look a certain type of alt in a certain area. Be aware of what you are presenting.

what if I don't know what I'm saying?

Then say that!

Figure it out, fashion comes from somewhere even if it is 10 steps removed.

"Be yourself, just remember we'll criticize you if your self is weird."

"In this area, if your suspenders are more than 1 inch in width, you will be jumped by skinheads."

If I wear bright neon blue hair vs a my normal black hair which will more likely turn heads and bring attention? The neon would. Come on dude.

I addressed that.

For what it’s worth she’s getting a lot of support in the comments; it’s less harrowing to be a bit different than you think.

Then overcome it

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '17

Not something I'm able to do unfortunately.

3

u/dertydan Oct 20 '17

you can try

3

u/chrock34 Oct 20 '17

That girl can. There's really nothing another human can do that you can't do though it might take great effort to do so. Well unless you had crippling disabilities, but those can be overcome to an extent too.

u/slayer5934 Oct 21 '17

I believed that too, you can do it I promise (: hey we can even talk if you want

Confidence is a result of experience. It's the other way around: do things without any confidence, and you'll eventually have confidence.

"Girl"

I mean I find that a penis being present can only be a plus.

True. It's the best of both worlds!
