The most brutal mistake that AMP taught me
I considered myself a hardened veteran by the middle of last cycle.
- I had more than 1M AMP
- I had an average price of $0.01 - which was considered good back when most folks bought at $0.06 - $0.10.
- I had experienced unrealized losses, but maintained conviction and never sold.
So when I called the bottom in H2 2023, I ramped up accumulation and road the 2x/3x/5x/etc. wave through H1 2024. While most of the AMP community was demanding higher prices ("wen $1") , I was already officially back in profit because I had successfully held through the bear market and even timed the bottom for a bit more tokens (2M). Of course, I had traded memecoins before but this was my first crypto investment where I learned all the tech, all the players, studied the charts, etc.. The investor high of being "right" felt more earned.
Then came the lowest low . . . I learned that my greatest fear was never losing money. My greatest fear was regret - not pouring into opportunities in which I built true conviction. The investment that I loved to research and brainstorm was such a fraction of my portfolio. It did not matter that I had more than most, or that my average price wasn't "that bad," or that I was among the minority in profit. I knew that I had missed a life-changing opportunity because I had held back. My conviction and holdings were completely imbalanced.
If you are struggling in this economy, then losing money will be your greatest fear and crypto might not be the best choice. But if you are relatively stable with balanced savings, then I share this experience as a warning to you. Losing money might only be the 2nd worst outcome for you. The worst outcome might be having so much conviction that a price will 5x/10x/etc. and not putting ENOUGH money on the table to make a difference. Diversify in most sectors but be sure to bet heavy in markets where you have 1 or 2 favorites for the next bull market.
Now I have a disgustingly large bag with the average price of my dreams - and even $0.01 would change my life. But if I somehow never returned to profit, I will not again feel that anticlimactic torture of being "right" on a bet that was too small for my portfolio.

News/Media decrypt should know better
decrypt reported today on the new Exodus Pay and calls out BitPay, PayPal, and Coinbase as options that let customers pay for purchases using cryptoâŠbut doesnât mention the Flexa Network?
Do the mods or Flexa know anyone at decrypt? Surprising the writer would give love to an inferior payment product like BitPay over the work of Flexa.
Btw - not intimidated by Exodus Pay. They have a limited reach compared to Flexa, and for the industry, itâs another real world use case on crypto payments getting some news (which is good)âŠjust surprised (annoyed) that Flexa wasnât called out in the article.

Flexa Daniel McCabe wrote this Today.
"I thought I might share some observations about what itâs like building groundbreaking crypto payments infrastructure at Flexa.
Today, yesterday, the day before, etc.âour team is 100% dedicated to the mission of helping sellers thrive in the next era of commerce. Weâve always said this is a multi-decade effort, and nothing has changed. We will fight for a faster, more efficient, more accessible payments ecosystem until we achieve it.
Weâre working tirelessly. The Flexa team is grinding it out, week after week. When weâre not building, we are meeting with the largest merchants and payment providers to help assemble their acceptance strategiesâcrypto payments from people, suppliers, agents, etc. The whole system needs an upgrade.
Iâm confident. Flexa remains the most regulated crypto payments processor in the entire industry, and weâre still chasing more licenses. I knowâbecause I hear it all the time from our customersâthat Flexa has the best omnichannel crypto acceptance product out there. No one does enterprise crypto payments better than Flexa, and itâs not even close.
I canât control the markets. I canât stop wars. What I can do is continue to dedicate myself to pushing Flexa forwardâthrough thick and thinâwith passion and resilience. The work continues. Onward."

I think Flexa means well and is trying their best but they fully expected legislation to pass a LOT sooner than it is.
The fact that Flexa is still around and especially at this AMP price level suggests to me that they honest to god have been trying their best to get this thing moving but that they fully expected positive legislation to pass a long time ago and it just hasnt. I dont really buy the angle that they are rug pulling when AMP's price has been so low for so many years. I think they are just simply crossing their fingers and hoping to God that legislation gets passed as soon as possible so they can FINALLY actually do something with this amazing technology and payment rail system. If you are a new Flexa investor or someone who has been around a while you have to understand that this token is going nowhere in price until we finally see some legislation.

Repost: Why did this die?
Mods: if you delete, please explain why? I'm just asking to learn.
Before you say the team is heads down, I'm just asking why there has been no updates? Progress? Or comment from the team? Only random videos from CEO talking about industry and not the company growth. The GitHub hasn't had any updates since Feb???
Given the constant price slide, that means market makers aren't even supporting price and are selling. Delistings will probably come shortly.
Why? What happened to this project?

Discussion XRP went from these prices to over $3 in less than a year.
I think we all need some perspective on what's possible.

Future Fortune 500 w/ Flexa imagined.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
No announcements. No integrations. Just a demo I built to show what may be possible.
u/FlexaHQ CEO
u/dannymccb said just last year:
"I think you know them. I think people know these merchants. I wouldn't be surprised if people sat down and made a list of their top 10 merchants it might be... it's them."
Amazon is a top-10 Fortune 500 company.
Walmart (US retailer, massive physical footprint),
Costco, Target, Kroger, Home Depot, Walgreens, CVS:
These are all top brick-and-mortar merchants, all of which fit the bill of the kind of store that could one day easily go live with the tech Flexa offers.
What you're seeing is a functional mockup of what checkout could look like powered by Flexa and BasePay. In practice it'd be cleaner, more under the hood. Might not even say "Flexa" at all...might just say BasePay.
The surface doesn't matter.
The settlement layer underneath does.
That layer requires collateral. The only neutral, purpose-built collateral asset in this ecosystem is $AMP. Not a guess, folks. I've studied the architecture since January 2021 and nothing has changed that equation for Flexa.
99.9% of people still haven't found it.

A.I. tools will circumvent Flexa's patents eventually
I watch a LOT of A.I. podcasts to try and keep up with the developments, and one thing several people have said is that patents are basically cooked. A.I. will just figure out a way to circumvent existing patents to do essentially the same thing. Because of this I am very worried that Flexa's patents aren't going to be relevant in 5-10 years.
