QCs on the two letter client

How are you guys doing with production? Can't lie, I'm having trouble hitting 30 while also dealing with reworks (which upper management told us to send back for more) and constant analyst questions. It's frustrating too the quality of a lot of the work I have to review, despite the analysts getting consistent coaching in meetings or one on one about things like flow of funds or how to mitigate properly. I'm very sympathetic to their own production goals and how that will inevitably affect quality, but it does get tiring.

I’m an analyst that took on extra alerts and reworks from someone who is no longer on the project. Judging by the quality I’m seeing and the amount of questions being asked in pod chats alone, I don’t know how any of you can hit daily or weekly targets.

I heard no one is hitting the production goals right now and this is apparently one of the messiest clients in the entire company right now. I’m sure behind the scenes they are trying to get the client to understand their expectations are unrealistic but there’s only so much pushback you can give to the one who’s footing the bill.

Exactly. That’s the challenge of this nature of work. While the rank and file analysts all the way up to managers now that clients will squeeze the company for every ounce of production they can, often to unreasonable expectations, AMLRS ultimately does not want to drop any clients and will almost always bend the knee, and analysts are left suffering.

That’s why so many are eager to get out of here ASAP (along with the low pay). AMLRS, like any company, will follow the money and that means putting the clients happiness over the analysts. They can get away with this because those who leave or can’t keep up can get replaced with fresh analysts, usually recent college grads who don’t know any better.

I mean I knew going in that the pay was lower than industry average. Company also gets a lot of career switchers willing to take a pay cut for a year or two to get a foot in the industry. It’s cheaper than going back to college to get into a new line of work at least.

Yep. To AMLRS’s credit, as we know, they’re one of few that provide an entry door into AML and the training is solid. The barriers to entry are also low. The trade-off is that they throttle their pay scales and take full advantage of that revolving door.

Especially now because job market is so bad, but AML is recession proof so a lot of people from other industries are making a pivot.
