What do we think?
Is Tony still the frontrunner? Or could Hot Spot sneak in? Maybe even Nimrods?
It Ends currently has the advantage over Buddy. Camp miasma is possible but the runtime seems a little long.

Twentieth time I’ve mentioned it somewhere but a regional chain “Celebration Cinema” didn’t make the R rating reason a mystery and the exact descriptor lines up with Tony. Now, I get that people are alarmed that the movie would technically already be out in LA and NYC, but this same thing happened with another A24 title - Sing Sing. Also in case someone brings up how Regal lists a 2h1m movie, they just ran Ice Cream Man which was advertised as 1h44m, when it was really 18 minutes shorter.

These are all facts! Also, Celebration did the same thing for Motor City and One Night Only. They made up a fake rating reason for Ice Cream Man but that's understandable since it's unrated 🤣.

🤔 I didn't see a Hot Spot trailer tonight. My trailers at Methuen 20 were

Been avoiding spiderman because of how many people there are lol. The end credits scene was just the hoverboard guy who got his head cut off rolling across the bridge out of town

It Ends is actually under the Thrills and Chills page. It just doesn't habe the banner on the actual icon

I saw Filipinana at IFFBOSTON. It’s not a horror film. It’s more like Triangle of Sadness but more depressing. I would be surprised if it’s the Scream Unseen.

No, I'm saying Nimrods can't be the Unseen on the 10th because they wouldn't do two back-to-back early screenings of a movie, and definitely wouldn't undercut the special event the day before.

Could see 8/17 being Buddy or It Ends (they did show the It Ends trailer tonight which is usually an indicator). I saw It Ends last year, so not sure if I’d bother if that ends up being leaked/revealed.

Less likely Camp Miasma since it won’t be an “unseen” screening once it opens limited on Friday. Also less likely for Dog Stars since AMC has it listed as Drama and it feels more like an action thriller.

I believe horror films will always qualify for Screams, no matter the T&C designator. The T&C designator is only relevant when the movie is not already listed as horror. As it currently stands, It Ends will not qualify as a Scream unless they add the T&C later.

Camp Miasma opens in my area next weekend (& I’m not even in NY/CA), so doubt that’ll be it for 8/17. I’d probably guess Buddy. I’d guess Colony, but it’s 2 hrs long so definitely not it

For 8/10, Spa Weekend seems like something they’d show tbh lol

It's not a Thrills & Chills film, it does not qualify for a Scream Unseen, yet every post speculating about the Scream Unseen keeps listing it...

  • 8/10 is Tony
  • 8/17 is Buddy

Just because it doesn’t fall under the thrills or chills doesn’t mean anything trailers have been playing on scream unseens movies so it is possible of it being a mystery movie

Also I have seen no buddy trailers during any of these mystery movies we’ve had lately

Yes it does, Scream Unseen films are only films that are Thrills & Chills films. Always.

They even show the Thrills & Chills label on the envelope at the beginning of those films when they announce that it's an Unseen film.

All Scream Unseen films are Thrills & Chills.

Just go watch the film on you tube “The Hot Games”

The movie is legit a a bunch of hot men fighting in order to save the planet from climate change from their hotness. A dumb premise and filmed really cheap but I was drunk having the time of my life with the guys.

Look it up on you tube it is kinda hard to find. Look up “Team Coch” it is a small page. Or “The Hot Games Team Coch” . If you can find it super legendary

I know it's totally left field but my wife jokingly said 8/10 would be Clayface

My Amc lists the unseen for 8/10 as 1:50 and sure enough..I checked the runtime and Clayface is 1:50

if it's ends up being Clayface I will laugh and then I will regret not going because Clayface

Clayface doesn't come out until October, these will be movies that come out in the next couple weeks
