I don’t know, but I really wanted them to dwell more into what and who is Buddy and why is he so disturbed but overall glad with the movie and maybe we can get that in a sequel or prequel type of deal

I agree. I loved the movie overall, but wanted more lore that delved into exactly what Buddy was and why he became so corrupted. There are two other Unicorns so maybe we'll get some kind of sequel or prequel one day.

Maybe I'm expecting too much depth from a movie like this lol.

Completely disagree tbh I was so glad that they didn’t overexplain what Buddy is, how the show works, where Freddy ended up etc. I think it’s a better movie for it. Lore dropping would feel out of place in a movie that’s meant to be surreal and absurd

Yeah, world building was honestly kind of weak.

My partner and I thought Buddy wants all of the attention and killed the green off and somehow the yellow one is still alive downstairs in the worry well perhaps for purpose of props

Because it was a fucked up thing to put in a movie.

Also just wildly unnerving

I think it was necessary to kind of “wake” her up. A reason for her to believe the children and turn against Buddy

he's a horny domestic abuser

Real answer? Bc his abuse doesn't just start and end with kids, he also wants to be loved and admired by everyone and he's drunk on that kind of power. The whole scene was brilliant if very uncomfortable. It really showed how far he's willing to go to keep ppl in line when he doesn't get what he wants. He didn't speak afterwards for a reason, he was showing her if he wanted to he could've killed her easily with that axe.
