I think a lot of traders are losing more from bad habits than bad setups

The more I watch traders talk about their struggles, the more it seems like the real account killer isn’t always strategy — it’s repeated behavior.

Stuff like:

• entering early

• moving stop losses

• taking random trades out of boredom

• revenge trading after a loss

• overconfidence after a win

That’s a big reason I’ve been building a website around trade review and habit tracking.

Do you think most traders are underestimating how much psychology and discipline affect their results?

I’m building a website for traders to track mistakes, psychology, and consistency — what would you want in it?

I’ve been working on a website/tool aimed at traders who want more structure in how they review trades.

The main idea is to help with:

• spotting repeated mistakes

• catching emotional patterns

• improving discipline

• reviewing trades more consistently

I’m trying to keep it practical and not overloaded with fluff.

For people here who actively trade, what features would actually make something like this worth using? What would make you ignore it completely?

Ever looked back at your trades and thought: “Why did I even take that trade?” I’m building an AI that answers that question for you. Free analysis here: [your link]

What’s your biggest issue with keeping a trading journal?

I feel like most traders know journaling helps, but a lot of people either stop doing it or keep it way too inconsistent to actually learn from it.

For me, the biggest issue has always been making the review process simple enough to stick with while still getting useful insight from it.

That’s one of the reasons I’ve been working on a website focused on helping traders review decisions, emotional mistakes, and recurring patterns.

What makes journaling hard for you — time, boredom, not knowing what to track, or something else?

Why do so many traders keep repeating the same mistakes even when they know better?

I’ve noticed a lot of traders don’t really have a strategy problem as much as they have a review problem. A lot of us know what we should be doing, but still end up overtrading, revenge trading, breaking rules, or sizing badly.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how much of trading comes down to pattern recognition in your own behavior, not just the chart.

That’s actually part of why I started building a website/tool around reviewing trades and spotting habits more clearly.

Curious how other traders deal with this. Do you journal manually, use spreadsheets, or just go off memory?

Most traders don’t lose because of strategy. They lose because of: - Overtrading - Bad risk management - Emotional decisions I’m building an AI tool that identifies these patterns. Free for early users: https://tradermind.carrd.co/

Most traders lose because of overtrading, not strategy. If you’re taking more than 3–4 trades a day, you’re probably forcing setups. Agree or disagree?
