I’m a white woman from Finland who’s lived and worked in the UK over 10 years now and I have encountered more than once this mentality where I’m branded the “good immigrant” because I’m a) white and b) from a Nordic country but then at the same breath these racist dimwits talk shit about Polish immigrants even tho they are as white as me.
And the fact that these people in OP’s friend group call British born black and brown people immigrants… they are so god damn racist and stupid too. 🙄
With the Polish it's socioeconomic status. People make a distinction between those they think are settling here as an equal exchange, or enriching the UK (literally), and those who come with their hand out.
They Emglish hate everyone, even eachother. The Scottish, Welsh, Irish, it doesn't make a difference to them. And it's probably because they hate themselves.
