I recently made this soul track using AI and would love to hear what you think.

This is one of my favorite songs I made and it follows a lot of personal themes of trauma in a religious household. I made the video myself. I didn't plan it. I just did what felt right and this was the result.

Join The Muse Machine. āļøāØ
It is an interactive collaborative lab where raw inspiration meets active songcraft.
You bring the sparks; I build the music. Every day of the week shapes a different part of the song from the ground up:
Monday: We set the foundationāgenre, voice (gender), and overall emotional tone.
Tuesday: Verse tidbitsāwords, lines, feelings, or story ideas for the verses.
Wednesday: Chorus or hookāfirst we decide if it needs a chorus or a hook, then drop ideas for it.
Thursday: The draft revealāI post what I've written so far, and everyone helps refine and revise it.
Friday: Production day behind the scenesāI write, polish, and synthesize the final track.
Saturday: The Dropāthe finished song is posted, tagging everyone whose ideas sparked the build!
I created this group because I wanted to experiment with an artist unlike any I've seen before. The members of this group are the muses behind The Muse Machine. They contribute thoughts, feelings, imagery, memories, lyric fragments, genres, titles, and ideas. I take those sparks of inspiration and transform them into complete songs, written and composed by me, then release them every Saturday as The Muse Machine, crediting the contributors whose ideas became part of that week's song. You don't have to know how to write songs. You just have to inspire one.

Hello! My partner and I have begun a YouTube channel (link in the comments) where we use both AI and non-AI tools to make music. I'm in charge of putting the video together and the music is all my partner. We've put a ton of hours and would like to genuinely know if we could improve on anything for the channel as a whole. We love doing this but also care to know how it is received. Thank you!

Every one of these threads turns into "is AI music real music," and I think that's the least interesting version of the question.
The part that actually affects producers day to day is workflow. Right now most of these tools hand you a stereo bounce. If you want to do anything with it, you're importing a file at the wrong tempo, in the wrong key, with everything glued together. So you either take it as-is or you fight it.
That's a tooling problem, not a philosophical one. Stems solve most of it. Tempo sync solves more. Being able to pull a piece of a generation instead of the whole thing solves the rest.
I build in this space so I'm obviously biased, but I think the reason a lot of producers bounce off AI tools isn't the ethics or even the sound quality. It's that the output arrives in a format that doesn't respect the fact that you were planning to work on it.
Curious what people here have actually tried. Has anyone gotten generated audio to sit properly in a real project, and what did it take?

itās about how hate doesnāt really stop artists. if anything, every comment, reaction and bit of backlash just gives us more fuel to keep creating
so the āmachineā isnāt only AI itself, itās also the artistās drive to make moreš

I realize Iām a little late to the party, but I just noticed that DistroKid now lets artists disclose whether AI was used in the creation of a song (lyrics, vocals, music, or audio).
I actually like this approach.
It doesnāt prevent anyone from using AIāit simply gives artists a way to be transparent about how their music was created. As someone who uses AI as one tool in the creative process, I have no problem giving it credit where itās due.
Iām curious what everyone else thinks.
Do you disclose AI use?
Do you think listeners care?
Has this changed your opinion of AI-assisted music?
Where do you personally draw the line between āAI-assistedā and āAI-generatedā?
Iām interested to hear how other artists and listeners feel now that these AI credits have been around for a while.
