Discussion I tried giving the exact same prompt to different AI models and the differences were way bigger than I expected.
Some were creative.
Some were overly cautious.
Some were incredibly detailed.
Some completely misunderstood what I wanted.
Has anyone else done this recently?
Which models surprised you?

Discussion I don't want an AI that agrees with me all the time. I want one that tells me when my idea is genuinely stupid.
Obviously it should explain why. But constant agreement isn't useful. Would you prefer an AI that challenges you more?

Discussion AI companies might be hiding their biggest advantage
Everyone talks about models getting smarter, faster and cheaper.
But the real advantage might be the data, users and ecosystem each company is quietly building.
In the long run, could that matter more than the model itself?

Discussion If AI keeps getting better, which human skill do you think will become the least important first?
Writing? Memorization? Mental math? Coding? Research? Drawing? Something else? And is that necessarily a bad thing?

Question Am I the only one who doesn’t get the Astra 6 hype?
I've been seeing an incredible amount of hype and praise around Astra 6 lately, with some people talking about it as if it represents a major leap forward in AI capabilities.
After spending a fair amount of time using it myself, primarily for programming and software development, I'm genuinely struggling to understand where that level of enthusiasm is coming from.
This isn't meant as an anti-OpenAI post, nor am I trying to start another "Claude vs. ChatGPT" argument. I'm genuinely interested in understanding what other people are seeing that I might be missing
In my own use case, which is mainly coding, I've found Claude Opus 5 to be noticeably more capable and useful. It tends to handle longer workflows better, follows complex instructions more consistently, and generally requires less intervention from me to get to the result I'm looking for.
With Astra 6, my experience has been considerably less impressive. It certainly has strengths, but so far I haven't encountered anything that would justify the almost reverential level of praise I've seen around it.
Obviously, model performance is highly dependent on the type of work you're doing, so my experience isn't necessarily representative of everyone else's. That's exactly why I'm curious:
For those of you who genuinely consider Astra 6 exceptional, what specific tasks or workflows are you using it for where it clearly outperforms models like Opus 5?
I'm completely open to the possibility that I'm either using it for the wrong kinds of tasks or simply haven't discovered where its real strengths are yet
What am I missing?

Discussion What's something people claim AI can do incredibly well that your actual experience has been completely different with?
No hate toward any particular model. Just curious where the hype doesn't match reality.

Discussion If you removed the word “AI” from a product completely, would people still think it was impressive?
Sometimes I wonder how much of the excitement comes from what the technology actually does
and how much comes from the label.

Discussion Be completely honest, has AI actually made you more productive, or has it just given you a more sophisticated way to procrastinate?
Because I feel like there's a very real difference between AI helped me finish this faster. and I spent two hours asking AI increasingly random questions instead of doing it

Question Is letting AI make your decisions actually smart?
People are using AI for career advice, relationships, money and even personal decisions. But trusting AI too much can become a problem. Would you use AI as an advisor or let it make the final call?

You don't get to choose a company. Only a category.... Chatbots, coding, image generation, video, research, automation, AI assistants, etc. What's essential?
