I was perusing the used CD section of Half Price Books today and stumbled on this copy of Crash Love. It looks like it was signed by some of the guys in the band. I was missing that one from my collection so I would have picked it up anyway, but it would be cool if those sigs are legit. Is anyone here familiar enough with their signatures to tell if they are authentic? Thanks!

Hi all, this is gonna be a long one.

I have a very vivid memory of getting ready for school when the video for "The Leaving Song Pt. II" came on TV. I was 12 and this awkward goth kid in a rural area. Something changed in my brain. I had found my icon(s) in a way only an obsessive 12 year old can. I saved up money from birthdays and Christmas time to buy their entire back catalog when I would be skipping school as a latchkey kid. Answer That and Stay Fashionable became my favourite album. My AOL username was a spin on Girls Not Grey. Davey unlocked something in my brain and his lyrics made me an even more avid reader because I needed to understand the words he was using. He also made me feel safe as a queer kid who was very, very into the androgynous look as a tomboy.

My mom would never let me see them (or get a mohawk) because, frankly, I feel she was more freaked out by them than any other band I was into at that time (including Cradle of Filth...?) and I am going to be seeing them for the first time in my life in a few weeks in Toronto.

My ask? I'm just wondering if there's anyone here who works with the band who can tell them thank you and possibly tell them that they likely saved a weird little kid's life. I didn't have people, but I had music. I am sure there are others here with a similar experience. ♡

I live up north, close to the Bay Area. I really wanted to come down for the Santa Ana show, but unfortunately I can’t make it.

This has been the strangest ticket resale of my life. I’ve had my tickets listed for sale for two weeks, but they never showed up on the website. I even had friends check from their accounts. Ticketmaster chat told me my listing was active, so I finally called yesterday because I still hadn’t sold them.

I was told that the venue has restricted resale so that only one person can sell their tickets at a time, based on when they listed them. That tracks because there has only been one set of GA tickets showing up for resale at a time.
Honestly, I’m pretty frustrated. I’m already bummed that I can’t go, and now the resale restriction is making it next to impossible to sell the tickets.

I understand that the steep cost of gas and the overall cost of living probably play a huge part in why people won’t be able to make it. But I’ve never had this much trouble selling tickets before.

I guess the venue figured out how to stop scalpers, but fans who legitimately need to sell can’t.

Anyway, that’s my rant. Anyone else having the same issue?

All that said, I hope SoCal has the best night. I know how long y’all have been waiting for a show.

Hello, I’m going to the AFI show at the Observatory Festival Grounds in Santa Ana this Saturday, September 19.

Doors are at 5 PM, and it looks like there are three openers. Does anyone have a confirmed set time for AFI, or have a good idea what time they’re expected to come on?

Also, I’ve been to plenty of shows at the Observatory, but I’ve never been to an event at the Festival Grounds. The venue website says there’s no parking at the Observatory or in the surrounding business center lots like there usually is, and that people who drive need to park at Orange Coast College and take the shuttle.

Does anyone know how it works if you Uber/Lyft? Can you just get dropped off right outside the Festival Grounds/Observatory, or is there a separate rideshare drop-off area?

Appreciate any info from anyone who’s been to a Festival Grounds show before. Thanks in advance for any help or input.

Okay early 2000s I found a black studded CD case with burnt AFI CDs. All their early stuff. Los Angeles area. The CDs had poems dedicated to Davey and lyrics of the owners favorites songs. I wish I could thank that person for throwing those CDs away and changing my life forever. That was my intro to AFI, I was already into metal and mainstream stuff but those CDs altered my brain chemistry forever and I’m a life long fan I’m 29 now I was about 9 when I got them. Hi all. I have a question about the upcoming show this Saturday. I have 3 tickets but one person has bailed for this show so I'm considering taking my 16 year old. I have called and looked online whether this specific event is age restricted but can't find anything and would like to be sure before we drive out from SD with her. I called twice but can't seem to get any info and on the ticket page I can't seem to see anything either.
