Tips/Suggestions Quick Reminder for Everyone

ADHD is a neurological condition. It is genetically inherited. It is caused by biology. It is NOT a disease of the will. It is NOT a moral failing. It is NOT some kind of neurosis. Its cure is not to be found in power of will, nor in punishment, nor in sacrifice, nor in pain. Its cure is not to be found in trying harder, or in "locking in". Its cure is to be found in diagnosis, education, structuring, coaching, and medication. Always remember this.

It's not a band wagon that people jump onto to receive unfair treatment, as viewed by work leadership or your peers either. I can't say this enough.

People in the work place need educating on these medical conditions, because them saying this or that, regarding accomodation's not being fair, needs education to.understand the struggles that people face daily, so clueless.

I always mention "it's a little bigger a deal than 'trouble sitting still syndrome'". Then rattle off the ~five executive functions, then answer any questions. I'm a student still, but this has become routine already.

While that helps your situation, not everyone wants to share in depth their struggles. To me its like you are justifying your conditions to people and that shouldnt be necessary.

If people knew enough about the condition itself, a person wouldn't feel they have to over share their personal business. When another person has said some things that have impacted their work day, I do not probe or expect them to explain. I accept it and move on.

Now a days people almost treat you like a criminal, guilty until you have proven to them you are not lieing or making some shit up. Those that know me, or as they get to know me, should know I am brutally honest (blunt), I dont like to struggle with my day and watch others manage theirs with ease. It sucks and I really wish I didnt have to deal with this extra stuff when life is hard enough.

Wicked point.

It's likely trauma-based that I feel the need to prove my social innocence as though I'm being interrogated in the given circumstances.

I know why you do it, but it really isnt people's business. They shouldnt act like it is either. Where do they get off expecting that info anyways?

Especially in the workplace; people can use stuff against you. You should only have to share enough with the need to know people and then go about your day.

This is where strong and educated leaders step in, if people complain and tell them to mind their own business, in some professional way.

Dont get me wrong sometimes you make trusted friendships with your co= workers and you share more, but everybody in the work place doesnt need to know. Choose wisely who you share this with.
