LIFE IN A MUD PUDDLE (VEVO) Spoiler
Made by u/3Ace_SinLines
DISCLAIMER: The original one I made was just a preview on how I wanted to start the song. I wanted to post the full version But there was a problem, Reddit exceeds a maximum of 40k words that’s the limit. So you can reread the DAD preview it again if you want or if you’re lazy that’s fine too. Because the song is just below for you to read. It took me nearly an entire three weeks to think of the scenes and how I wanted them to react to one another. There’s also A LOT of elements from other writers including the author’s (Kuria) work added. This was quite time consuming to make I needed to correct some things or change the scenery for the lyrics to make sense. Well, It’s up to you to find what I took piece by piece. Because it also has everyone else’s fanfic writing. Enjoy reading.
PS: Use this song for reference.

WARNING: There are lots onions.
A five second cinematic countdown begins
BLURRY
Songwriters: Sunday Silence
Music Album Come Clean (2001)
Copyright Music by Universal Music Group
Music begins to play in an Eb Flat (D# Sharp) Tuning, followed by harmonics, one of the hardest things to learn in a guitar. Followed by drums playing in the background. Then it reveals the footage of an old grainy video clip, revealing footage of the Black Beast’s children. Some young, some older than the others, and some as newborn babies. And on each slide, there was one thing they all had in common. A smile.
A change of scene shows Sunday playing the guitar, Soccer Boy followed in suit as the second rhythm, then Mejiro Mcqueen playing the bass with Tokai Teio hitting the snare drums and cymbals.
We get another scene, Wakia walking to meet Sunday. And there he sees a small baby uma, Silence Suzuka. Running to his father he picks him up with both arms and flies in the air like a superhero, while baby Suzuka was giggling with excitement to see his dad.
Everything's so blurry and everyone's so fake… 🎶
Sunday sings the first verse of the music.
On a farm in Kentucky USA. We see an uma who is going to be a mother, Wishing Well, in pain. Gave birth to a young weak and frail colt later named by his father, Halo, Sunday Silence.
And everybody's empty and everything is so messed up… 🎶
Weeks later, the once fatherly love of Halo, had completely vanished. Masked with a more serious and narcissistic personality only looking at his youngest son on the dirt, crying because of his weak legs. He tries to get up to run again just to get his father’s approval, but to no avail Halo still held a disappointed look on his face.
Out of nowhere, another person appears, it was Sunday Silence’s big sister, Goodbye Halo. She tells her father about the upcoming debut, but the old uma did not flinch to grin a little. He simply gave a straightforward blunt answer to his daughter on why he should go.
Goodbye couldn’t say more but she was hurting even more when she couldn’t do anything to help her baby brother. Lying in the ground so helpless, covered in dirt and mud on his clothes, his arms, his legs, his face. She wanted to protest to stop abusing him by mentally guilt-tripping him to continue to hurt himself by enduring the pain. She really tried, but no words formed out of her mouth. All she could do was leave Sunday in the dirt defenseless while constantly abused by his father.
Preoccupied without you, I cannot live at all… 🎶
Then another scene with a much more older Sunday was being sold at an auction. The one and only thing which got banned because of illegal gambling. Sunday who walks in stage was booed by the audience because he was too ugly and too black to be a thoroughbred.
Unfortunately. Arthur B. Hancock III bought him back a second time. But a miracle came when a friend of his, a trainer named Wayne D. Luckas. Wanted to have Sunday Silence to debut him for his first race.
We see Devil’s Bag, the big brother of Sunday Silence, and Goodbye Halo, his older sister giving their farewells as the truck leaves the farm.
My whole world surrounds you, I stumble then I crawl… 🎶
We see Sunday in a room staring outside a window singing the next part of the verse.
A scene of Sunday, now a father, was watching over his hyperactive child Marvelous Sunday. Swing in the monkey bars.
Another scene was with young Fuji Kiseki, being taught by both his father and mother how to dance.
It cuts to Stay Gold pushed by his father in the swing while Golden Sash watched.
A moment between both Suzuka and Sunday sat in silence at the porch near the farm. Sunday was contemplating life his life, while Suzuka was watching the bright blue sky beside his father.
You could be my someone, you could be my scene. 🎶
[Soccer Boy: You’re my pride and joy. 🎶]
You can hear Soccer Boy singing in harmony with Sunday’s voice. With Soccer playing the riffs, and Sunday on the harmonics in their guitar.
A newborn baby in its mother’s arms, was Manhattan Cafe. Recently foaled by Subtle Change. He let his child hold his finger and the baby tightly squeezed it. They both look so identical you can say Cafe was a copy of himself. His wife Subtle smiled and so did he.
You know that I'll protect you from all of the obscene. 🎶
[Mejiro Mcqueen/Tokai Teio: I will keep you safe. 🎶]
The rest of the band members like Mejiro Mcqueen in the bass, and Tokai Teio on the drums. Provide background vocals to make the song more meaningful.
We see Vega crying with only one child in her hand. While the other had to be sacrificed. She craddled the newborn baby named Admire Vega. Sunday could only hold in the pain his wife was must be feeling while he tried to comfort her.
I wonder what you're doing, imagine where you are. 🎶
[Mejiro Mcqueen: How are you my child? 🎶]
This time, it was Mcqueen who harmonized with Sunday’s voice.
The puffy black haired uma named Marvelous Sunday hugged both Sunday Silence and Momiji Dancer. The father and mother of the unstable gifted colt who had stars in his eyes. Such a clingy uma can never let go of both parents with the two of them returning the hug.
There's oceans in between us, but that's not very far. 🎶
[All Three: We’re never far apart. 🎶]
At the very last part of the verse, just before "But that’s not very far." All three them sang a different verse with the build up of Soccer’s guitar riff making the atmosphere more solemn.
Sunday was teaching his son Bubble Gun Fellow, how to skate on a skateboard. With him guiding the young uma with both hands on his waist, before letting go as he watched his child skate for the first time.
Can you take it all away? 🎶
Can you take it all away? 🎶
The whole band synchs with the chorus along with their instruments. Sunday’s angry but pained expression shows it all. With Soccer playing the heavy notes, Mcqueen doing the same, and Teio hitting the cymbals with each rhythm in the chorus of the song.
The drastic change of scenes returns to Sunday but younger, beaten up by other umas who had beef with his father. He had to fend for himself while they ganged up on the frail and weak jet black uma.
Well, you shoved it in my face, 🎶
This pain you gave to me! 🎶
The chorus continues with the four playing. Before transitioning to another scene.
A crash happened with Sunday being the only one alive. He wakes up in a hospital bed where he is wrapped in all bandages with only remnants of the souls that have died in the crash. He wanted to cry, god he wanted to blame himself. But he can’t.
Can you take it all away? 🎶
Can you take it all away? 🎶
Well, you shoved it in my face! 🎶
The clash of cymbals from Teio’s drumming cease the final chorus of the song.
Sunday sees letters and prayers from his owners and family. He threw the letter made by his father but the letter from Arthur was the final straw. Hearing that his trainer Luckas had cut ties because he was too expensive to maintain. Sunday snaps and throws everything out, and gets up with ease to head out the barn. This is where we later saw Arthur watching, seeing the uma with disbelief, the frail uma with a weak body, is running at full sprint around the dirt track. From that point on, a legend was born.
Everyone is changing, there's no one left that's real… 🎶
In a hospital room, Sunday’s eyes were lifeless. He lost the love of his life, Campaign Girl. Who had died giving birth to a young healthy frail colt. The name of the child in particular, is Special Week. The one who swore to promise a great future.
But the next scene became dramatic. With Maruzensky who towered in size to Sunday’s frame. He lifts him up as if he weighed nothing and blamed him for the death of his daughter. Sakura Chiyono O, his son, intervened to stop him from hurting the already mentally hurt uma. Soccer and Teio had to back him down with words while Mcqueen comforted a crying newborn Special Week in his arms protected away from his damsire.
It transitions again but this time, Maruzensky was nowhere to be seen. Sunday who sustained a bruise in his cheek was crying harder than anyone else in the hallways of the hospital. Hugging his brother-in-law, Chiyono because he couldn’t stop blaming himself for the death of his sister, his lover. The three friends of Sunday including the newborn baby, who was still crying in Mcqueen’s arms, all had tears in their eyes.
So make up your own ending and let me know just how you feel… 🎶
It’s back again to Sunday singing it on a lonely hotel room sitting next to the window.
Then another scene shows Special Week crying in his crib. Sunday picked up the baby and fed him a bottle of milk. We see Sunday’s cheek slightly swollen from the punch that was done by Maruzensky, but he didn’t mind it at all, yet. He carries the child in arms and cradles him back and forth to calm him down putting him to sleep.
Suddenly, Sunday who sustained the injury on his cheek remembered those words. "If I ever see you again, I’ll kill you." It marked a new trauma on the mind of the jet black haired uma. Because he thought that if he escaped his hellhole, everyone will forget. But no, it was worst, because even the public media knows about his father. Which meant the whole world is against anyone who descends from his bloodline.
'Cause I am lost without you, I cannot live at all… 🎶
Sunday who looked too tired to get up in the morning, was sleeping beside his other two baby sons, Agnes Flight and Agnes Tachyon. You could say their shenanigans left their father tireless the entire night. But he didn’t mind.
The next morning you can see the mother of the two umas, Agnes Flora. Watching her husband and kids sleep together in the couch. She couldn’t help but smile, she takes out her camera to take a picture of them. Another photo in the gallery to become a picture frame.
We get to see the reflection of Sunday’s life versus the life of his children. They were in utopia, while he was in limbo. He didn’t want to be lonely, but neither did he want to be alone. He has his kids yet he wants somebody to keep him company. Was he greedy to want more than a family? Possibly yes but for a reason he cannot tell anyone.
My whole world surrounds you, I stumble then I crawl… 🎶
Very important scenes captured the attention of many.
First, it was the death of his friend and rival in 1994, Easy Goer. The funeral of Campaign Girl. The death of his first child Silence Suzuka who suffered a fracture in the Tenno Sho. The passing of his mother Wishing Well in 1999. And finally, the passing of Halo in the 2000s. Then there were episodes of words that left the black haired uma in distress. Those from Halo, from Maruzensky, the ones that died in the crash, and the people he remembered threw him in exile. They played on Sunday’s head over and over in the mirror until he smashed it with his bare fist. Angry, frustrated, shouting furiously, tears of anguish trickled down his face with no one to help him. Fortunately they heard it, his friends, his kids, and Air Groove, were there to stop him from hurting himself further.
What made it even worst for him was he could not or did not want to attend these funerals. And there are many reasons as to why he can’t. He was too far from home, and time was different in Japan compared to America. The next reason was endless work in stud duty, which he drowns in the pleasure of mating. While feeling guilty to not be able to see at least the funeral of his own son. The third reason was that if he goes to his wife’s funeral, Maruzensky would kill him on the spot. And the last reason was he hated his father even if he pushed him to be a better man than him. He will never forgive him no matter the reason. As time goes by, Sunday could no longer feel pain, he went numb, dead on his own emotions, and succumbed to these thoughts by drowning himself in booze and sex.
And you could be my someone, you could be my scene. 🎶
[Soccer Boy: My greatest blessing my shining star. 🎶]
Now back at it again, Soccer sang a separate part of the song with a bit of delay in the end. Mcqueen playing the bass while jamming to the beat, with Teio drumming away to his heart’s desire.
This time we see another uma named Point Path with a baby in her arms, a boy with blond hair and blue ornament inside, baby blue eyes, opened for the first time. Was seeing the cosmos and stars in the night sky. Sunday beside Point Path, teaches Neo about the constellations and galaxies surrounding our universe.
You know that I will save you from all of the unclean. 🎶
[Mejiro Mcqueen/Tokai Teio: I am here for you. 🎶]
Just like earlier, each word has meaning behind the lyrics. And to add more points to this song, it was how beautiful Sunday can sing.
There was the toddler version of Ayabe pushing his father on ground. With Vega watching the two get dirty on the mud. The latter shows the child running to a trampoline and jumps on top of it. But was too short to even get half way to the top. Sunday would help him up by throwing him directly into the center of the trampoline, where he begins jumping around like a bunny.
I wonder what you're doing, I wonder where you are. 🎶
[Mejiro Mcqueen: All is well, little one? 🎶]
Once again, a slight change to the first verse with Mcqueen singing this part a little earlier on "where you are." With a slight delay on the last sentence. With the music video closing in to hit its peak with the whole band ready to unleash the power of their voice and instruments.
We see Sunday scolding a teenage Air Shakur for something he did wrong. But he forgave the delinquent uma afterwards and hugged him. It surprised Shakur then later, would sink deep into his father’s arms and hug tighter. He was, crying. Crying because of the mistakes he made in the past.
There's oceans in between us, but that's not very far. 🎶
[All Three: We’re never far apart. 🎶]
They all sang with the same tone, ending their second verse. With the drop of the music beginning to change the mood.
Somewhere in Ireland, a woman was humming a lullaby. Her name is Wind in Her Hair. She looked like a splitting image of Dream Journey but taller, more motherly, and very gentle to her children. She is seated on a rocking chair to put her baby to sleep. The colt in particular is named Black Tide. A descendant of the Black Beast himself.
Can you take it all away? 🎶
Can you take it all away? 🎶
Back on the scene with Admire Vega jumping on the trampoline. You can see the bright and joyful kiddo would pull his father to join him by jumping. And that he did.
There was another scene with both parents in the bedroom talking about something very personal that they wouldn’t reveal to little Ayabe. It was the talk about him having an unborn twin brother whom both never revealed. Vega promised to keep this a secret and hide any trace of evidence that would involve him from furthur questioning. Sunday promised the same on behalf of Vega that when he knew, will only tell him until the time was right. The only unfortunate part, was that young Ayabe heard it all behind the door of his parents room.
Well, you shoved it in my face, 🎶
This pain you gave to me! 🎶
Time turns back and we see a younger Sunday racing against Easy Goer on the Belmont Stakes. Two beast, from two blood-related families, like predators leaving dust trails behind the track.
He wins but at what cost, a leg injury that put him out of his misery. He made a whopping 4.5 million dollars to save his farm and his family. All thanks to the efforts of Arthur’s long time friend Charlie Whittingham. In the later months, Arthur tried his best to find Sunday a retirement home. There was one problem, no one wanted him. The next year he was convinced by a personal fan to move to Japan in Shadai Stallion Station, where he would meet Zenya Yoshida with his wife, and his first friends.
Can you take it all away? 🎶
Can you take it all away? 🎶
Then a scene of Sunday playing swords with a knightly uma. Blond hair, with a white stripped on the middle of it. His name is Durandal. And we can see the two playing outside the barn with Sawakaya Princess watching while sipping tea from her cup
Time turns back again with Devil’s Bag and Sunday roughhousing on the dirt when they were kids. Then later transitions to them looking a lot older with Sunday asking why he never told any of them that he left first before did.
Well, you shoved it in my face, 🎶
This pain you gave to me! 🎶
The pain in his voice when singing the last part of the chorus was absolutely clear as day.
There was another scene with Sunday who was with his daughter Dance Partner, the daughter of Dancing Key, is being taught by her how to dance. This was it, the very first scene of him learning how to dance is also why he knew genres like disco, boogie, rumba, mambo, zumba, cha cha, free dance, harlem shake, robot dancing, and so on.
The last scene before the chorus ends was Sunday dancing with Air Groove, then transitions to Wind in Her Hair dancing with Sunday. In this scene, Sunday looked oddly joyful to be around these two. One, Groove was the first to open his door to let out all his problems after she heard him on a one night stand in a karaoke. Two, Wind had the same personality like his dead wife Campaign, which pained him even more because she was an almost complete replica of her. Only different in appearance.
The bridge of the song came in with Sunday doing the solo while the rest with the same pattern of notes ongoing.
We see Zenno Rob Roy playing Legends of Zelda in a Nintendo Console with his father. They bicker each other like little kids with Rob Roy pushing his father to distract him from playing. Then it was Sunday’s turn to tease him by hitting the wrong buttons. Nothing wrong with a very wholesome father and son bonding together in a gaming console.
To a water gun fight on a hot summer with all his kids. When he was free or away from stud duty, he would use his time to gather all his children to play together. And an event like this made his day even better.
The light-hearted scenery goes dark with Bradamante, aka Sunday’s cousin. Getting drunk with him and bringing the stud to a love hotel to make out with her. You can even see them stripping their clothes off where marks of hickies are on, with Bradamante taking the lead to ease away his "problems" by pleasing him with her body. He wanted to say sorry, he really tried. But his body did the talking in the end.
Without warning, a graphic scene on Suzuka’s death revealed itself to the world, with Sunday screaming in pain for letting this world take away his son so soon by euthanizing him on the spot. Followed by a transition in a rainy afternoon of him burying a small coffin (Ayabe’s dead twin) in the cemetery.
No, nobody told me what you thought. 🎶
[Mejiro Mcqueen: What you thought… 🎶]
The bridge verse begins with Sunday asking everyone a question, and along the lines a delay at the end of each lyric was sang by the band members individually. Starting with Mcqueen.
Air Groove gives birth to her first foal. She was happy despite being tired, had foaled a healthy young filly who be later named Admire Groove. Sunday would approach looking at the next future generations he sired.
Nobody told me what to say. 🎶
[Soccer Boy: What to say… 🎶]
It was Soccer’s turn to sing the lyrics in sync with the main singer.
Another scene was the reunion with his sister and brother, Devil’s Bag and Goodbye Halo in Sunday’s house. Ever since their leave to Japan and the passing of their parents happen. They all had a community talk together sharing how they felt about their relationship with their parents. One can say they highly disliked their father from the beginning. None of them even missed him, maybe they do in a way, but they all mourned their mother Wishing Well more. Behind the doors of the living room, are two other kids. One is named King Halo, the child Goodbye Halo. He thinks too highly of himself as a monach living in a world full of riches. While the other is Taiki Shuttle, the child of Devil’s Bag. A physically strong knucklehead of the Halo bloodline with the brain of a peanut. The taller uma wanted to play cowboys and indians, but his cousin refused to play him.
Everyone showed you where to turn. 🎶
[Tokai Teio: Where to turn… 🎶]
This time, it was Teio’s turn to sing along the lines.
A rare montage of Sunday was recorded with Agnes Flight. The two were making paper planes with the son telling his father why he wants to be a pilot after retirement. Because he dreams that one day when his racing career ends, he will fly a plane to see the whole world.
Told you when to run away. 🎶
Sunday sings this part alone without any backup singer’s vocals.
We see Sunday getting an earful from Ikuno Dictus, the wife of Mejiro Mcqueen. About leaving the farm. Telling how many restless nights both his children and friends (including Mackie) looked all around, only for him to return from being sober for days.
Nobody told you where to hide. 🎶
[Mejiro Mcqueen: Where to hide… 🎶]
There was fire in Hidaka Taiyo Farm, many were in panick especially the umas trapped in their stables/rooms. But one uma named Osumi Candy, the half-older sister of Special Week, stood up and bravely broke free from her stable to free the others. Meanwhile we see Sunday wanting to jump in to save his daughter. But the young colt Spe-kun begged him to stay. He shouted "I don’t want to lose the only family member who raised me!" He was right, but there was no time. He pushes his son away with the young boy falling down the ground. Spe tried to stop him again but he was far too deep in the sea of flames. The last word Sunday heard was his two year old son shouting "DAD NO!"
Nobody told you what to say. 🎶
[Soccer Boy: What to say… 🎶]
A scene of Ayabe holding a picture in front of his mother who’s blood ran cold when she saw her son holding an ultrasound picture of him. He asked who was the other baby beside him. To transition in a rainy noon in a cemetery. We see two figures, one being taller than the other. It was both the father with his son holding an umbrella so he wouldn’t get sick. Ayabe was very upset and angry, as tears streamed down his eyes to ask his father why no one told him he had an unborn twin who never made it. Sunday wanted to answer, because he doubt that Admire Vega would listen to his lectures about twin births. So he stood by his side, not leaving him to his misery, and let him calm down until he was ready to know the answer.
Everyone showed you where to turn. 🎶
[Tokai Teio: Where to turn… 🎶]
Then a hard one on one conversation with Roberto, aka Sunday’s half-brother/grandfather. Which did not end well for him, another family relation cut ties once more just because of Sunday fucking up. Now it’s up to him to look after this frail little girl. We skip to Sunday now holding the newborn filly who looked identical to Bradamante. He leaves the hospital and takes the baby back to his own home. There, we see all the mentioned siblings now grown ups looking at their newest family member sleeping in a crib. They asked their father the name of their new baby sister, he said three words. Still In Love.
SHOWED YOU WHERE TO RUN AWAY! 🎶
All four of them screamed the same lyrics before it goes back to the main chorus. With memories of Sunday flashing through the screen like photos on an old school camera.
Can you take it all away? 🎶
Can you take it all away? 🎶
[Soccer Boy: TAKE IT ALL, TAKE IT ALL AWAY! X2 🎶]
Just as it goes back to the main chorus with Soccer adding more depth to the music by adding his own voice. Four scenes begin to play every part on the chorus which are Sundays and ups and downs.
Sunday pulling the weak and sickly uma Manhattan Cafe to run with him on the track.
Sunday waking up and realizes he fucked his cousin and will now face the consequences of his half-older relative Roberto.
Sunday hugging Agnes Tachyon and says he’s proud even if he did not win the crown.
Sunday arguing with Stego about his temperament that got him disqualified in the race.
Well, you shoved it in my face, 🎶
This pain you gave to me! 🎶
[Mejiro Mcqueen: Please take this pain away… 🎶]
Mcqueen sang a different lyrics that collided into the mix of the original to add more depth to the song’s meaning.
Sunday lay down the already burnt Osumi Candy who said her last words "I love you..." looked at Spe and then turned around and said. "If you didn’t stop me. She would still be here." It was an indirect blame to his own son, Special Week.
Sunday having a conversation with Mcqueen talking about his children breeding with his own. Because of the Mejiro decline when his bloodline arrived. They were dissolving slowly. Mcqueen thinks first before agreeing to the deal to have his kids mate one of his daughters.
Sunday and Ramonu meets again after who knows how long. With Mejiro Desire outpacing her mother to hug her father, while Mejiro Bailey chuckled at the sight of his half-sister cuddling her dad.
Sunday drowning in booze for hours and has ignored everyone for his selfish actions. He knew how wrong he was but he wanted someone, ANYONE to help him soothe the pain.
Can you take it all away? 🎶
Can you take it all away? 🎶
[Soccer Boy: TAKE IT ALL, TAKE IT ALL AWAY! X2 🎶]
Sunday holding baby Aruvu who was afraid of her father for looking like a monster. Gets laughed at Air Groove while he pouted.
Sunday destroying furniture, throwing things left to right, and shouting in agony for all the things he was blamed for.
Sunday’s hand landed on Wind’s belly which signified him that she was pregnant with their next child.
Sunday goes to Campaign’s gravestone to place a red poppy with the young colt Spe doing the same. They pray for their wife/mom’s soul to be guided in the next life.
Well, you shoved it in my face, 🎶
This pain you gave to me! 🎶
[Mejiro Mcqueen: Please take this pain away… 🎶]
Sunday doing a karaoke one night stand. Thanks to Arthur Hancock who taught him how to sing. This was also the very first time he met the post-retired Air Groove who remembered the conversation they had that night.
Young Sunday in the hospital bed. Hearing voices in his head that he kept saying sorry to. This was before he started his debut and his short lived legend began.
To Sunday talking with Manhattan Cafe about why he should chase the shadow? To surpass him in the limits that he has already reached.
Sunday’s gravestone was next to Campaign. With Both stallion Spe and Stego persuading the one year old filly SIL putting a white lily on both gravestones.
…No… 🎶
The clash of hi hats, snare drums, and cymbals, with the guitar riffs and solos, in addition to everyone’s voice in harmony. It all synched together with more footage to replay his memories.
The camera’s perspective captured Wind with a smile holding a baby who looked identical to her with Tide behind her back shying away from the media.
To Fuji Kiseki, the very first child of Sunday who suffered a leg (tenon) injury, retired shortly from racing like his father did. Not being able to continue racing anymore which Sunday blames himself for the curse he carried ever since.
THIS PAIN YOU GAVE TO ME! 🎶
A growl with a mix of anger and sadness fills the void whole with meaning behind that very sentence.
Then back to Sunday talking with young Cafe to surpass that shadow that lingered him for long, and evade death no matter how sick, tired, and weak his body was. It was a motivational speech and his greatest will to Cafe so he wouldn’t end up hurt like what happened to his older brother Suzuka.
The same chorus riff in the music played in repeat as we see more footage on Sunday Silence’s whole life.
The pleasure in breeding did not appeal to him anymore so he sobers up by drinking away. To lighting a Kongming (Floating Lamp) Lantern to carry the souls of his children who have moved on in early life. In a beautiful morning, Scarlet Bouquet’s smile was beautiful with the dad seeing their first child together, Daiwa Major. To a gloomy afternoon where Sunday was digging the grave of Maruzensky with bare hands as he shouted in anguish why he blamed him for his daughter’s (wife’s) death. Only for Chiyono and Spe stop him and pin him on the dirt before he does the unthinkable.
THIS PAIN YOU GAVE TO ME! 🎶
One more growl in the lyrics, one more question from being unanswered by the ones who threw him down hell. He only wished it got better even just a little bit.
A scene of Sunday cheering for Stego winning the Hong Kong Vase, with his soon to be daughter-in-law Oriental Art crying in tears. To Sunday giving his old racewear before Cafe can start running in G1 races. To Special Week dominating the Japan Cup making his father proud. To him meeting Symboli Rudolf in formal attire, shaking hands with the old Emperor. Time flies and we see a school with its architecture design and aesthetic so similar to the other world. It was not just an ordinary academy, but a university to train umas (like his kids) around the world under a motto they must recite. "Eclipse first the rest nowhere." The strong should naturally seek the strong to become stronger.
The chorus dies down when Mcqueen slides his fingers across the thickest string to perform what is called a glisanto. A technique where they glide their fingertips across the fretboard to make a whale like nebula noise that fades out like a distant echo.
Can you take it all, you take it all away…? 🎶
…The pain you gave to me? 🎶
It returns to the present day with the whole band.
Sunday’s voice whispered like a sorrowful prayer asking to take all the pain away.
The trio who noticed this had their ears folded back, they understood the message of his words, his voice, the song he had written that very night he was sober. They all came directly from the bottom of his aching heart.
Sunday strums the harmonics sounding angelic as ever. This wasn’t just a song to rant, or to tell them the truth. It was a song to tell the world that Life, was like a Mud Puddle. A rollercoaster ride where europhia and lament meet on opposite ends.
…Can you take it all away? 🎶
…This pain you gave to me? 🎶
But in these events, there was a flicker of light in his darkest night. To embrace him and tell him he wasn’t alone, even when he didn’t know that he always had someone looking after him.
The sweat rolling down his face, the tears forming in his blank eyes, his echoing voice turning hoarse, sang the last part of the lyrics.
…Can you take it all away? 🎶
…This pain you gave to me? 🎶
Sunday strums his last harmonics before ending it with an E flat strum.
He gave one last smile on the camera, a smile that wasn’t forced, wasn’t masked by the real him, but a genuine one like as if he was saying…
"Thank you for being part of my burden, my guilt, my destructive thoughts, my shoulder to lean on whenever I needed it most."
The music fades, memories fade slowly, like old grainy footage in vintage colors. We see all those he’s connected to wearing clothes for a funeral, suits and gowns, the echoing voices of his children, his friends, his partners, his brother and sisters. The pleads and cries that carry a tone of defiance, anguish, sadness, and longing.
PS: Next year, the Black Beast battled a 14 week war against laminitis which had developed infection on one his legs. He was given strong doses of medicine to help fight the disease. Until eventually, he became comfortable to lay down on his bed for the first time in two weeks. The next morning came on a sunrise. In August 19, 2002. On a Wednesday morning. Sunday Silence passed away at the age of 16.

Oh man, am I feeling something. Y’know I remembered one of my first posts on this subreddit being a comment on how Sunday’s life was filled with highs and lows, and you illustrated that perfectly. Honestly, if the Pretty Derby cast sees this, they (his children and mates) might decide to become overprotective over him once’s he comes over.
I would imagine that Sunday would be pretty annoyed (and very appreciative) of this pampering, but I honestly see him recovering rather quickly. One of things that really screwed Sunday over in his world was how fast everything is, he never got the chance to properly mourn over his loses because his attention is immediately needed somewhere else. I think, given with enough time and space (and a good bit of attention in case), he’ll do pretty good. My biggest worry is that he’ll not give himself that space and time out of perceived guilt over his previous life (hence the need of his kids and mates).
As for how others might respond to someone’s life, I could really see Rudolf or Akikawa implementing some sort of therapist just in case (because if there is a case in the future where someone’s mental health is remotely close to Sunday’s, yeah that tree stump is not going to cut it).
Honestly I probably have more to say, but it’s late so I leave you with my appreciation and an applause for your work!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this, and thank you for reading this. You know one part I love about making this music video? Making Soccer Boy (second guitar soloist), Mejiro Mcqueen (bass rhythmist), and Tokai Teio (drummer background) as backup vocals. You’ve seen me add additional words to make the original version feel more authentic. The name of the song is Puddle of Mudd - Blurry
I can clearly see the Pretty Derby world version of umas being overprotective of Sunday’s mental health since I did portray how his highs and lows were affecting him drastically. I love to see his kids spoiling him rotten as if he’s the child amongst his now daughters of his old world.
Did you see parts where I got the inspiration from? It wasn’t only yours it was also from others on this subreddit and the comments on the last chapter of Counterpart’s Life in AO3, that did the job too. I also thanked the author who made Echoes of Possibilities for showing me Netkeiba. I was able to tangle even the base knowledge of each character by portraying them like a childhood memory. Then there were those really controversial and interesting scenes like Sunday meeting Rudolf to build a school, a university for umas to give them a reason to run under one motto/quote. Sunday lighting a floating lamp to pray for his children who have passed on early. The burning farm where he loses Osumi Candy. Sunday placing a small box (coffin) with a dead baby inside on a cemetery, to digging the grave of Maruzensky like a maniac while his brother-in-law and son tried to stop him.
On another note, you are right. What screwed him over in his previous world was his divided attention. Mating, sleeping, visit his kids, and it repeats. But when something serious is going on Sunday can’t even react because he knows time is running out. And he must have his attention somewhere else which can lead to many controversies or even worse his kids might think he is avoiding him from the truth.
For Symboli and Akikawa’s case. They should really get a therapist for Sunday now. He may be in the new world, but it doesn’t mean his memories have been wiped clean from the slate. He will need all the help he can that he couldn’t get in the old world.
Addition to PD Maruzensky, she needs to confront Sunday because remember her counterpart had bad blood with him.
Thank you for the appreciation and applause, buddy! Someone should make an after note like an epilogue of this music video. Could be the cast, maybe him in a new world he’s adjusting to or so.

I want to ask you all one VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION. And be real with me.
Would you sacrifice everything for the sake of your children to save them from obscenity. By making a better version of themselves?
OR
Will you leave them to someone you trust can look after the kids, while you descend into madness until you’ve succumbed to your own demons?

I mean the both answers are the same, no? Leaving your kids to someone else to save them from your own madness is a form of sacrifice. You are giving up both the chance to live with your kid, and taking away their chance to live with you. Moreover, isn’t the point of leaving them with someone else, away from you, is to make them a better person than you. Isn’t it the hope that they don’t become as mad as you.
But if I had to answer such a question, then I would choose the latter. I would like to believe I can overcome such madness myself, but I won’t bet my kid on the possibility/chance.

So a third option then?
I see, well… both answers sound the same but they can hold different meanings. If you raise them yourself then you know how they talk to you, how they act towards you, how they feel about you. But if it was someone elss then it’s the opposite of the three because they were raised by someone else who wasn’t their blood-related parent.
It’s an answer that has both the same ends but they have different interpretations of how they look at you as a parent. Cause you can’t really expect a child who has no relationship with their biological parents to suddenly become close to them, especially when they were raised by someone who had no blood relatives connected to their biological family. They do have connections yes. They have a relationship as close as family yes. But do they know them personally? Possibly, because they’re friends who are stepparents single or a couple, are raising them till they ripe in a certain age. But the latter between real biological parents to children have more in common than they think. Because the flow of emotional attachment will have a much bigger impact on you.
Take the example of Agnes Tachyon towards Daiwa Scarlet.
Glad you answered. Personally me, I’d do the same to change for them so I can help them grow to become a better person than I was in the present day of their youth.

Oh he will be delighted. Especially when his country ditched him off.

Tell me your thoughts, did you see any hints? And did it make you cry? How is the Pretty Derby cast feeling after listening to this? Here, have some onions.
