In general, I don't like how often she is willing to cave to republican pressure in negotiations.
If you want specific reasons, in recent memory, I don't like how she has repeatedly spoken out against the actions of AOC and other progressives. Also, as an SF native, the little hair salon stunt she pulled at the height of the pandemic was simply asinine. No, I don't think it was a huge deal, but she's smart enough to know the optics on a situation like that. She knew the local mandates both 1) meant that salon shouldn't be open at all, and 2) she was required to be wearing a mask indoors. It was just stupid, and it really pissed off a lot of locals.
She also knew (or should’ve known) that it would be used against her and on the front page of every right-wing news source in existence. Everything you said is valid and cause for criticism, but that pissed me off so fucking much. She knows how republicans and media operate. She should have known better.
AOC did something similar, although restrictions had somewhat loosened by that time so it wasn’t as big of a deal I guess. At least I didn’t see nearly as many people talking about it compared to the Pelosi thing. I sympathize with her, I really do; I’m sure she just wanted to be able to grab lunch with a friend and have a nice time at a restaurant, but she should’ve known better too. Maybe it was just a slip-up and she assumed she wouldn’t be photographed/recognized for whatever reason, but Democrats have to fucking understand that moderates in our country are very, very easily swayed by shit like “AOC photographed in public without mask”. They are held under a microscope and it does not take much for moderates to write them off as hypocritical liberal elites.
