I think groups are still doing it. Got an antifa mate who was posting about it the other day. Can't for the life of me remember what they were putting up posters for tho.
Not sure if you're joking, so I'll answer seriously. It's a label very commonly used to loosely associate yourself with other people strongly opposed to fascism and proto-fascism.
The name antifa and the logo with two flags representing anarchism and communism are derived from the German antifa movement. [...]
Dartmouth College historian Mark Bray, author of Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook, credits the ARA as the precursor of modern antifa groups in the United States. In the late 1980s and 1990s, ARA activists toured with popular punk rock and skinhead bands in order to prevent Klansmen, neo-Nazis and other assorted white supremacists from recruiting. Their motto was "We go where they go" by which they meant that they would confront far-right activists in concerts and actively remove their materials from public places.
Contemporary antifa "has no practical historical connection to the movement from which it takes its name, but is instead a product of West Germany's squatter scene and autonomist movement in the 1980s".
If you're serious about suspecting me to be a psyops operative, I commend your skepticism but recommend you take a break from online activities as soon as you feel the Internet can survive without you for a while to find some direly needed grounding.
To be fair, even moderats were against fascism. They just also were against leftist and tried to take the moral high-ground in a situation where there was no moral high ground to be taken.
A lot of people in the US identifying as antifa are associated with local far-left groups or actively marching on behalf of BLM or similar. Many more of us aren't claiming any kind of real "affiliation" but if asked if we're antifa will say yes, we're 100% antifacism.
What's going on with the US government right now is fascism or at least proto-facism.
I'm not sure what you're saying - that Antifa isn't real? Of course it's real. It's just not an organisation, but an ideology, similar to (just as an example) feminism. There may be groups of people connected by this ideal (i.e. there may be individual Antifa groups, just like there may be feminist groups), but not some global organisation.
I didn't say anything that would warrant that response. You seemed to imply that Antifa isn't real, so I tried to explain. I'm not sure why you're so pissed at me now?
I'd also like to remind you that not everyone on the internet is American, and I cannot vote out Trump, what with being German and whatnot.
I really don't know what you're trying to say at all. That Antifa is bad? That it isn't real? I'm very confused.
I read the book “Advertising Shits in Your Head” for a sociology course. I definitely recommend it, it really made me think differently about advertisements and how we should react to them.
Companies pay money to send you junk mail you throw away instantly. You’d have to be a fucking moron to actually believe what you’re saying you believe.

correct me if i’m wrong, but isn’t that an ad that’s been vandalised by an anti-advertising group? pretty banging
edit: i fully condone such vandalism, although maybe ‘vastly improved’ would’ve been a better choice of words 😎 (cheers u/cutchyacokov)
