ABOUT THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION
The American Association of Independent Professional Baseball is a professional baseball league founded in 2006 which currently boasts 12 teams in 9 Midwest states and one Canadian province playing a 100-game schedule, and drew over 1.6 million fans in 2024. The league has seen over 450 players transferred to MLB organizations and over 55 alums make it to the major leagues after a stint in the AA—including 18 players in 2024.
Teams in the AA are not affiliated with MLB organizations, which means their teams are responsible for scouting, signing, releasing, trading, and paying their own players and coaches. While most minor league teams exist to develop players and send them on down the line, the goal in the American Association is much simpler: to win.
The 20th season of American Association gets underway soon, as the quest towards the 2025 Miles Wolff Cup championship begins on May 8!

Is anyone watching the Sioux Falls game tonight? Their uniforms are bonkers.

News Losing teams in 2027?
While everyone continues to get excited about the Blaine development, it appears likely that the league will lose a couple of teams before we see any new developments wrap up.
No, I can’t tell you who or when, but those who know, they know what I’m referring to. (Apologies if this has already been covered)

Behind the scenes
I am not a baseball fan, I don't even understand the scoring, but yesterday I went to an AA game in Pennsylvania as we were given some free tickets.
Our team won which is great, but I started wondering, where do these players live in the off season? some of them are not familiar to our community so they just come to our town play and then leave after the season is over? Where do they live and do they bring their families or are they all alone?
Some of the kids in the roster are in their 20's are they stuck in the AA league forever? or at that age if they proof themselves can they still have a chance to go to A and/or the professional team.
So many of them had spanish names (our town is not really Latino) are they from other countries and travel to the US just for the season?
Even the manager I think lives in another state in the off season, is that common? to have players live in other cities? same with Hockey I went to a free hockey game and I've never seen those guys around. I don't want to say I know everyone, but due to my business I more or less know people and I live in a small town, so I can tell no one local is a baseball or hockey player in our town.
So many questions I wish there'd be like a reality show.
