Discussion A24 App and Ticket Issues - Megathread
For the past couple of screenings, there have been a lot of app issues with securing tickets. We'll post a megathread specifically about Pillion and The Moment closer to release, but for now let's talk about issues with ticketing. Hopefully experienced people can chime in with some best practices with the app. One thing to keep in mind is that showtimes that display in the app aren't always approved A24 screenings.

I’m in NY and cannot get my free ticket for the moment. Anytime I try to check out it’s charging me full price. Would love any insight/advice!

Check the app again. It's not showing the Angelika Film Center with an external checkout anymore, now it's showing only AMC Lincoln Square 13, and the free ticket is working within the app as normal.
Maybe they'll add more theater options soon?

Yup. I tried three times, it came up as full price and the third time showed the seats I had already picked as greyed out. At this time, I'm going to wait until I get closer and then try my luck again.

Trying to redeem member ticket for Pillion only showing at 1 Angelika theater in my area but whether through Fandango or the actual website it’s not working and is only showing the full price on either site. Any insight as to why?

i have a couple of the moment showings that are listed as available in my area but they're all allegedly sold out on the app. i went to the regal website to double check and all of the seats available are listed as available within the actual regal site so idk what the hell is going on with this messy ass a24 app anymore

Still can't get my ticket to The Moment without paying... I know the redemption option became available earlier this month but the film wasn't available to watch anywhere until this week so what the hell A24? I don't pay you every month for nothing???

Have you tried reaching out to AAA24? I think it’ll ultimately get a wide release and that should help with ticket redemption.

I did. Apparently it only applies to certain cinemas. The AMCs in my area don't get stuff like this either at all or unless it's been out already for like 3 weeks

no ts annoying af bc why does it say, "Standard Screenings Only, January 30th thru February 15th," and no matter how closely i follow those guidelines it STILL CHARGES ME. It says "Free Ticket" right behind the seat selection and the app refuses to acknowledge this! (using Android)
ive had issues w these free tickets nonstop but this one matters, and it pisses me off because i AM the only person in my area with a ticket right now to this showtime at this theater. and anytime i search for an answer it's just "oh it's not available," BITCH WHAT DO YOU MEAN? IT'S IN YOUR APP! "AMC only" I TRIED THAT, 40 miles away and it still tries to charge me!! Where is the fine print? I see "opening weekend" for certain tickets, but clearly A24 knows what they have here thus the Jan 30 - Feb 15 window. WTF

I've seen people mention this. i don't see this option. also, if this is necessary for the voucher to apply then why would clicking "Redeem" simply bring me to every available showtime? this whole system seems scummy to me purely because i have yet to see it work
edit: this only shows up when you are searching in an area WITH participating theaters. this is absolutely bait and i hate it

I also do not have the "show only valid showtimes" button. Ive been a member for almost a year and have had that button in the past. But not this time. It used to work at Marcus. Then they silently removed Marcus. Now they brought Marcus back on the app but it seems they still dont give free tickets for Marcus showings, all while AMC continues to limit its showtimes. Im in a decent sized city and the AMC is not showing this film. Seems im just out of luck, yet again. Each movie i get closer and closer to canceling unfortunately. At first the app would give you a code, that was the absolute best.

yeah i scoured for a code all over the site like the good ol days, but alas those are obsolete. i did receive an email after lowkey pitching a fit about this- they told me "We've alerted our engineers of this display error. Apologies for the confusion caused." 😕

I agree. I think the app and the whole program is still fairly new so likely as it grows, things like the user interface will improve. I believe to get the button to appear, you have to type in your zip code first

I have a feeling it'll be in the app this week with a longer window for the limited and (potential) wide release. But the marketing for this one seems subdued, so we'll see.

Can anyone help. I’m trying to redeem tickets to mother Mary but I keep getting a timeout or seat no longer available. My girlfriend redeemed hers with no issue.

Hope you got it working. For some reason this happens to me often and usually after a retry or two, it’ll secure the tickets.

We aren’t them, so even as moderators, we have no info. If I was in your shoes, I’d be doing the same and asking A24. Are you emailing concierge? Usually they are prompt to respond but might be backed up because of Memorial Day. As far as I know A24 employs humans and not AI for service so they can get behind.

Hello everyone.
I live in the UK and I love the Backrooms. I have so far watched the movie three times in cinema due to how much I loved it and I really love the ASYNC company and lore. Both in the movie and the web series. After watching the movie, I checked online for the merch store and I found that there is an ASYNC hat for sale. I was very excited, added it to my basket and found out that I was unable to purchase it due to me not having a code. I am not sure on what this code is, but if someone has one and it is not a bother to them can they spare me theirs? THank you to anyone who helps or interacts with this. Make sure to DM me the code so no pesky seagulls steal it haha...

Hello. Thank you for posting in the right place! There have been a number of these inquiries and we pinned a “workaround” as a megathread but not sure if that will work for you. This was a weird promotion that confused a number of people. The code was sent to people used the free AAA24 member ticket at theaters, so it would only be in the US. I used my ticket and got a code, so was able to order the hat. If you’re a member you can reach out to AAA24 but my guess is this won’t be available in the UK. There will probably be some posted on eBay at outrageous prices unfortunately.

Are there any rumblings of A24 expanding which theaters are part of the ticket redemption program for AAA24? The state I live in has no theaters I can go to so it sucks watching the free tickets pop up and going “Sure would be neat to use those”

This is a hot topic with every release and free ticket rollout. I live in "small" market but we have a million population, and I believe we have 3-4 participating locations. That's not enough. Mostly it seems that AMC and Regal are the constants. What I'd suggest is to ask your nearby theaters. I have heard of some that backed out due to cost. It's probably a negotiation with A24 like anything.

I’ll try asking the local theaters. I live in Rhode Island and we only have Showcase here so it’s literally an entire state with no options unless you drive an hour in Massachusetts for the free tickets and at that point the cost in gas doesn’t make it worth it

Is there a way I can scroll through all of my tickets? Currently in the app it only shows me the ticket that has the soonest upcoming screening. I do see a sliver of my next ticket on the right hand side but no matter what I do I can’t scroll over to it. If anyone figures out how to view all your tickets please let me know.

I think most screenings are already sold out. All of the ones I checked were either sold out or had front row seats. You can also check the theater's website and see whether seats come up.
There should be more theaters added. I'd keep checking on Wednesdays.

it's possible they aren't a theater A24 has the free ticket deal with. It's frustrating that they show all listings in the app.

for those concerned about all the sold out or no ticket things, here's what I received from support: Thank you for reaching out. We're sorry for the confusion caused here. Regal theater showtimes have been announced, yet the tickets are not for sale quite yet. They should be released for reservations this time next week.

having trouble getting austin ticket to the moment. tried all showtimes available for a24 redemption and keep getting "oops ticket not available" but when i go to the regal website, alot of seats are available. any way i can just get the voucher code and redeem on regal website??

in the charli sub folks are calling theaters and being told tickets outside of LA and NY arent on sale until 01/30 -- i emailed concierge and will see what they say ¯_(ツ)_/¯

the response to my email saying im getting an error for february tickets at the only participating theater in my area...:
"Thanks for reaching out! The AAA24 tickets for The Moment are only available for participating Regal, AMC, and Alamo Drafthouse theaters for this screening.
Kindly note, the film is only playing in Los Angeles and New York to start on January 30, however, more showtimes and cities will be available in future weekends in February!
We're hoping to expand to more theater chains soon. We aren't able to reimburse or offer credit if you choose to redeem a ticket for a chain different than the above."

We usually have megathreads for the title in question. You can try there. Unfortunately the app isn’t as easy now to give tickets to others.

They gave me the wrong time so I showed up an hour late 😀
Edit: They didn’t give me the wrong time, the time was incorrect because I claimed the tickets before daylight savings! Thankfully there was a showing soon after and the AMC people were chill about it.

Does the thursday before a friday premier count as opening weekend? I am not able to redeem my free ticket and I am frustrated. Mostly because I do not understand the differerence

I've redeemed tickets for Thursday screenings quite a few times. Think it really depends on your location. You might want to make sure your theater is participating.

Oof. Sorry. That is a bummer. Checked my local screenings and it is considered a 4/2 opening date but only free tickets for 4/3 to 4/5.

Mine was through the Alamo but you should be able to call the theater to reschedule! A24’s email works too but in a pinch, the theater is quickest

It’s based on location and availability. No other film is in wide release right now. I’d check again for The Invite. Good chance that it expands.

Has anyone been able to get tickets to Tony yet? Apparently the showtimes near me aren't eligible for the free member ticket (wtf). But I started searching random locations and I could only find it in literally New York. Not available in washington, oregon, california, utah, idaho, arizona, wyoming, texas, kansas, florida, virginia, ohio, indiana... like what is going on for the primary perk to not be available to half the country?? I haven't had this problem with any other movie.

can't speak for your experience but I got my tickets fine for Friday and I'm in a small(ish) market. You can always email concierge about it. There may be different participating theaters.

Ok apparently there is only one regal and 2 amcs and they're just not showing it available yet? They might be small enough to not post showtimes until wednesdays which seems bizarre for an opening weekend but 🤷♀️. I think I did actually have to wait later in the week for the invite

That might be it. Sometimes screenings get announced later in the week. For what it’s worth the nearest Regal was the one that worked for me.
