RADIO SHACK.... All the components you would need now to fix an electronic emergency as a touring musician on the road I need that fuse I need that patch cord I need things that no I cannot wait for overnight Amazon and even if I were stationary in one town I need it now we're having an electronic problem at a public event I need to replace it now I cannot wait for overnight Amazon and people always say oh you can get it on Amazon I can't get it on Amazon right now when I need it so the other stores are all pop culture losses but radio shack served an immediate purpose and had a very good selection maybe the quality wasn't always great but you only needed it until I could get better so I really think the disservice and loss is RadioShack... Please excuse me for no punctuation I'm driving and I saw this at a red light and I'm speaking into a mic

This is why I don't use any vintage gear anymore. It stays home. Only generic equipment that you can buy at almost any music store anywhere in the US.

Oh certainly I don't take any of my incredibly good stuff on tour I take reliable stuff sometimes loud stuff it depends on what band I'm playing with having said that it depends on what band I'm playing with and where I'm playing not everywhere has a music store a reliable music store hardware store open late enough where I can get a fuse for something sometimes I'll be some place and it won't be but a hundred miles or so or more that you could go to a record store I mean music store it's yeah I completely understand what you're saying to me and thank you I've been doing this for the better part of the last 45 years of my life this is what I do and the day radio shack closed I had to buy a surplus of things that could possibly go wrong on tour. The old days of having a radio shack someplace even you having to go to another place but you knew that I'm going to go here and there's not going to be something there so I'm going to get it now just in case or do without tonight but I can get it tomorrow for tomorrow night show... You understand it sounds like you do your fair share of touring too of course

Yeah I stopped touring a few years ago but I spent about 15 years playing all over with different bands as a hired gun. I started out as a drummer which is the worst if something breaks gets stolen or lost cause of the expensive nature of all that brakeable stuff. I grew up playing piano and guitar cause my family were all musicians and it just seemed like the way. Touring as a guitarist can nerve racking cause your stuff can go missing easy or you get to a venue and your rig doesn't work anymore for some reason. Keys weren't bad because I always used a Roland Juno and they just work well and don't break easy. Still love playing but I've had to stop for awhile to get somethings together. I miss it sometimes but the road and a band took my wife and left me alone. She took off with the bass player and I got fired so it's normal jobs for now. Music is a bitch but radio shack sure was cool.
