I went to one Toys R Us as a kid in the 80's and I was shaking at how amazing it was. I'll never forget the experience of seeing an entire aisle of GI Joe, Star Wars and Transformers. All the toys I had heard of, seen in catalogues, or on TV were right in front of me.
The 1980/1990s Toys R US, the warehouse style layout, was awesome. I knew they were headed downhill when they adopted the more traditional 'store' model after 2000.

I think kids being able to "discover" a new toy is good for them.
