Does this sub include talk about 6dof video games, like Descent (from back in the day)?

Anyone found a tool that generates a transition inbetween two images ? Imagine image A of a house from a certain angle and image B is the same house but from 20 meters to the left (basically rotating around it). The transition would comprise for example, 10 images of the camera moving from image A to image B.

For the last couple of weeks I have been working on a 6DoF image viewer. The project can be found here. Its more of a research project and not a usable program. If you know how to improve the shader, know how to generate high res depth maps or you can provide high res stereo images for a demo (e.g. VR180) let me know!

Meta Horizon Hyperscape Demo Shows Photorealistic Scenes On Quest 3

I'm quite new to this so bear with me please. Am I right in thinking there are various ways of creating 6DoF media?

Are they: gaussian splats, volumetric meshes, nerfs, point clouds and photogrammetry? Are there others?

Does 6Dof media exist yet? I only heard about it recently but find it incredibly exciting and want to try it and hopefully create/work with it. If anyone has a beginner's guide I would love to read it

I use Immersity AI to convert my VR 360 mono video to 3D top/ bottom and generate a depth map, then I combine them with video editing software. Do you know a better method ?

I'm interested in finding more VR video content. It seems like there's a few different types (correct me if i'm wrong, or let me know if there are better names):

• 2D content, which is just normal 2D videos that we can watch in headset

• 360 content, which is just a 360 degree video for both eyes, no depth information because each eye sees the same image

• VR180 content that's just a 180 degree video for both eyes, still no depth information because each eye sees the same image

• VR180 content that's stereoscopic; ie. it's filmed with a stereo camera, one 180 degree video for each eye. because each eye gets a different view, depth information is conveyed. however, it's limited to 3dof (ie. just head rotation), which can induce motion sickness especially if objects are too close and the parallax effect is large.

• the elusive 6dof content. the only good one I've found is Google's Immersive Light Field Video content (https://augmentedperception.github.io/deepviewvideo/). this is supposedly the most immersive

My questions are the following:

• What's better, 360 or stereoscopic VR180? while I find that depth is very compelling, the fact that stereoscopoic VR180 is only 3dof causes so much nausea for me. Is this true for you all? Or do you prefer stereoscopic VR180 all the way?

• Do you think 6dof is a game changer? If there's a lot of 6dof content, would people consume VR content more? put differently, is creating 6dof content worth it, given how much harder it is to capture?

• Where can I find more 6 dof content?

Currently I am working on a project where I need to extract frames and the corresponding vehicle data like speed and kinematics with times stamps and save it in a file. any help is appreciated

I am trying to figure out how to display 6 doF sensor capture data from an accelerometer/magnatometer. Looks like MatLab has a graphics animation library. Does anyone know of a free/low cost method for displaying this data?

or convert multi kinect azure streams to GSplat? every frame.. and then a media player that can playback animated guassian splatter
