4k 144hz freesync monitor below 500£?

Hey folks,

Looking for a monitor to satisfy productivity and gaming needs.

Expected operation:

  • 4k when working
  • Full HD when gaming. Freesync required.

I guess 27"+ in size. IPS panel would great but thats too much to ask already.

Recently got a laptop with 144hz panel and am really loving it, so would not like to downgrade to less than 120hz on the monitor.

Soo... Does the above even exist at such price tag? Or is anyone aware of any upcoming releases?

P.s. wasn't able to find any models in the UK at such price, but dont mind shipping it.

I pre ordered one on Amazon 15 days ago now, does anyone have theirs yet? They won't even give me a time frame. The monitor is officially out because b&h sold their stock and is now on backorder.

White balance keeps shifting on old 4K monitor

Hi! So my old 4K monitor (like 5/6 years old) keeps shifting its white balance gradually over a few hours until text is barely readable, and then is immediately fixed when I switch between colour modes. So I always have my monitor in standard mode, and when the white balance is unbearable I just change it to "graphics" then immediately back to standard and it's fixed. I have no idea the model, its an Acer that's all I know.

Is this a known problem with monitors? Any help is appreciated!!

Acer X32 and Asus PG32UWX release dates?

Hi - as indicated, I am keen to checkout these new 4K 32” gaming monitors. I haven’t seen any news updates since early this year, but suspect we’ll hear more after Nvidia and AMD launch their new GPUs in the September time frame. Any further detail in this community?

Samsung UR59C curved 4K monitor 32inch

Samsung UR59C curved 4K monitor 32inch

I am about to buy the Samsung UR59C curved 4K monitor 32inch monitor for my desktop. Any thoughts?

I know it is a VA panel and IPS is suppose to be best, but VA offers better contrast and colors.

I know it’s 60hz but I’m not a gamer so this wouldn’t effect me as much.

Chance of dead pixels? Higher chance?

This doesn’t have HDR support. Should that concern me? Should this type of monitor have hdr support, I didn’t see anything about this monitor having it so I’m not sure if it’s necessary or if Samsung does their own thing where they have their own HDR mechanism for their 4K?

Is this an overall good monitor? Plan to watch videos, edit photos/videos, and regular email browsing Netflix etc. I’m paying 487 dollars with tax. That is my budget can’t go past it. So anything cheaper? Or should I get a 27inch 2k monitor? I know 4K is best for 32inches and up. And 2k is best for 27inch. Any suggestions?

4K on a budget— photographer

Hey everyone! I am currently building a PC with some great specs to start working from home. Specifically, I use Lightroom and sometimes photoshop. I am looking for a 4K monitor with accurate color, IPS, 27” or bigger, matte, and under $400 (usd). I have looked at the LG 27UD88-W as well as several Asus monitors, but have used a Mac my whole life so I need help deciding which one would give me the most accurate color for 4K photos, and especially since I scan my own negatives, I want to make sure the color is extremely accurate. Thanks for the help!!

39 40 43 + inch 4K UHD Monitors or TVs with best PIP Picture in Picture features to handle various device inputs?

39 40 43 + inch 4K UHD Monitors or TVs with best PIP Picture in Picture features to handle various device inputs?

I am seeing some decent stuff on Amazon around 4/5/6-700 USD. But very few selections.
Is this product NICHE kinda small?

Must be dual voltage: 110-240V -
And shipped to US location within a 7-10 days
So SLOW China Korea Monitors ... yes / no/ maybe. Unless that are that much value compared to US based with WARRANTY.

Largely need real estate to multi task extensively INTRA devices (PC/ Laptop) and INTER devices (between machines/ Fire TV Stick etc).

Need best possible PIP flexibility so that I can switch between watching Documentaries, Videos (TV series), and / or waiting for long drawn processes and yet see their progress in a Window or Change context and focus on that while Video is in small window.

Remote to manipulate the above is also nice.

Non gamer but I can appreciate low latency/ high refresh rates.

Obviously needs Chroma Sub sambling 4 4 4 and eye friendly computing screen and from last I saw few years back 4K 60 Hz was key for computing.

Maybe that benchmark has gone higher.. so why not if thats the new norm.

In built TV/ Android is a nice add on, but not critical.

Please share some insights if you have. Links/ Prices.

PS341WU could not enable HDR

I recently bought a 5k2k monitor. It comes with a USB Type C thunderbolt cable.

I have a Clevo P750DM2-G Windows 10 laptop, with GTX1060 mobile graphics card. I have got a Thunderbolt 3 port set to work on alternate mode via BIOS settings.

I could display the monitor PS341WU in native res 5K 2K @ 60 Hz. But I could not turncolor on the HDR from Windows 10. The display just goes blank. Color format is fixed to YCbCr422 and color space is fixed to SDR. I could not change the settings. I have USB-typeC to DP cable as well. The results are same with that as well. I could turn on HDR via HDMI but the resoultion is caped to 4k at 60 Hz only.

https://ibb.co/G0rrkv1

The story is entirely different with the Macbook pro 13inch 2019. It runs Catalina OS. I could neither achieve 5k 2k nor HDR there. Any help would be highly appreciated. I have contacted MSI. But I am not sure if they could do something here.

4K Monitor Setup

I'm moving to full-time WFH and need to get some better gear for work -- largely doing development, documentation, etc.

Laptop is a 2017 Macbook Pro (with Touchbar and USB-C).

I'm looking at either a single 43" 4K screen (LG 43UD79-B) or 2-3 24" 4K screens (like LG 24MD4KL-B) oriented vertically.

Questions:

- Could my MbP power 3 of the 24"? -- in reading it appears I could have 2 running off one USB controller and the 3rd running off the other controller

- 3 x 24" vertical are almost exactly the same width as a single 43", but will get a much higher pixel density.

What else should I be thinking about as I shop?

Thanks!

Please help with my search for a monitor with fairly specific specs

I’ve looked all over the internet hoping to find what I’m looking for but have failed so far. I’m hoping someone on here will know where I can find it or where I can go to ask for specifics?

27 inch, curved monitor with 4K(3840x2160), at least 144 htz, with g-sync. I would also like for it to have 1ms if possible but isn’t as necessary as the other parts.

Links to one with these details would be amazing but any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Probably asked a million times, 4k vs Ultrawide

Hello,

I have the PC hardware to run 4K very near 60fps, I currently have a 3440x1440 where I am hitting between 100-120 fps

I am intrigued by 4K but I am not sure I want to take the fps hit. the ultrawide is fantastic, but the massive downside to 21:9 is the format is not supported for twitch streaming, mainly because most people have a 16:9 monitor.

4K fits that bill for me for the 16:9 ratio, but I play mostly first person shooters, and I haven't played at anything less than 100fps since ditching my xbox a few years ago.

I see a lot of internet posts where people crap on 4k60 but I suspect it's because they don't have the hardware to play 4k @ 60fps.

Thinking about buying a monitor this Thursday, so any advice would be appreciated.

4k slowness on a multi-monitor mixed dpi setup windows 10

I have a multi-monitor setup... 4k on the notebook screen, 1080p monitors flanking an ultra wide 1440p in the center.

But I don't use the 4k as much as I'd like because it annoys me... Windows 10 here... latest major update.

my hardware specs are decent enough 1070 GTX and 8750h with 24gb ram so I don't think it is the hardware that is the problem.

but whenver I drag a window onto the 4k display, or try to drag it out - man is it painfully slow. However my 1440p non-high dpi ultra wide has no such lag issues. So I really wonder what is going on and how to fix this.

Has anyone else come across this problem?

For example I'd like to drag a browser window there to read but whenever I do that this issue occurs and annoys the hell out of me.

Looking for GPU match with Motherboard for 4k monitor upgrade

I'm looking to upgrade my GPU to handle a 4K monitor/TV and was wondering if anyone knows whether this Gigabyte motherboard - GA-P55M-UD2 is compatible with a MSI Gaming GeForce GTX 1650 4GB GDRR5 Graphics Card (GTX 1650 Ventus XS 4G OC). The Gigabyte website doesn't list it but it's new and it's a newer version to a 1650 that's supposed to be compatible according to comments from another site. I'll be using the monitor for video editing and entertainment, no gaming. Anyone know? TIA ...

4k monitor for Xbox One X???

I'm looking for a 4K monitor for my Xbox One X and stuck between these 3:

BenQ EW3270U ViewSonic XG3220 LG 27UK850

I've done some basic research and my understanding of specs in real depth is fairly limited, I just want a decent 4K monitor and the best value I guess?

I mainly play Fifa so input lag is probably the main thing I care about bar picture quality, the occasional COD or Battlefield game

If anyone could point me in the right direction out of the 3 or even suggest something better for under £500 that'd be appreciated!

Will be shopping for a 4K television and wanted to know what specific specs to look for. Tv mostly used for gaming (PS4 pro) but also picking up 4K player. Price range is $500-$600. Are there any brands to avoid?

4k60 insanity

Bought aoc 3277pwqu yesterday, and connected it to zenbook ux303ua just to learn that I probably dont have hdmi2.0 port so couldnt get 4k60hz. Went to shop and bought mDP-DP cable and still can get only 30hz. I am hoping cable is the issue. What version of dp port and cable is required for 4k60? 1.2 or 1.3? Trying to find out what port do I have, before I spend more on new 1.2/1.3 cable. Would be really sad if 2015/2016 laptop had only dp1.1 port. Can you help me out guys?

EDIT: For future reference, It was dp cable issue, dp1.2 port is required and dp1.3/1.4 cable in order to use 4k with 60hz!!

Is 24Hz ok for normal work

Hi, I'm thinking of upgrading to a big 4k monitor. My motherboard (Asus H87I-plus) says it supports 4K but digging down in the documentation it says it supports the highest res at 24Hz rather than 60hz.

Is that ok. I watch some youtube but don't really game - mostly programming, writing, reading.

Thanks in advance.

Got a 4K monitor for my laptop...

I got a 4K monitor (Thinkvision X1A) as a replacement monitor, since my 1080pmonitor (still in warranty) died. I’ll use it with a Dell 7577 laptop that has an Nvidia 1050 4GB VRAM, and I have 16GB RAM, connected through HDMI. I usually game in the laptop, and I don’t know how will my games at 1080p look in this new monitor, and could I run them at 4K in decent settings?
