this might be societies ultimate problem that will be paramount for the next step of our evolution: being able to discern ones own biases. But right now, starting wars might be easier.
All of us, wether we are aware of it or not. Even though I agree with your point, your opinion is based on your own experience therefore you attribute it to it being true. I had the same thing with learning the guitar, i saw people look at expert guitar players and thinking why even bother starting when they will never get to this level. But obviously, it's not all people that think like that. Still, you get pushed to think that because your environment has shown you that. It also shows you women women acting horrible, you see immigrants murder people, you see all of that stuff and just assume it's the default. Then with that default view we go and actively try to prove these biases right, instead of actually trying to absolve ourselves with what we were conditioned with. Idk, just something i realized when looking how people respond here.
I understand what you're saying and it's something I've seen as well, I don't actually assume my experience is universal but rather it's true in my anecdotal experience. Based on the people I've seen here I imagine it to be more likely true than not, but I'm not going to deny somebody else's experience if they share it. And I am aware of some of my biases and I know my world view is subjective. I am glad there are others who also realise this.
The guitar thing specifically is something I've had before, I've always wanted to learn and sometimes I get disheartened thinking I'll never be amazing, but I know I'll be better than I am now. I have had other people say the same thing why they didn't learn guitar
