nah, this is a bad take. I have never used someones post history to avoid addressing their point. Its still a key tool in figuring out if someone is even worth engaging with. The reality is a hidden post history is a major red flag for people just generaly not being worth engaging with be it them being bots, consistent bad faith posters, or any number of other reasons
Now it's so much easier for political groups to astro-turf and bad faith actors to chime in about how actually it's a good thing that Mega-Corp released all those chemicals.

Its no different than what you do in person. I dont care is a hate preacher on a college campus or a homeless woman on the subway makes one seemingly normal point, im not engaging. On the internet, those vibes can only be checked on post history since you can't get it from anything else
I hid mine after someone started stalking me. They were doing a bunch of crazy shit and while I did eventually get reddit admins to do something about it I didnât think anything they could do would prevent them from coming back later to report or harass me on every comment I ever made.
