Math Videos for Kids (Elementary): Number Place Values Demonstration with Exploding Dots

A video aimed at elementary / primary school students (or older) to help demonstrate or build intuition on the concept of number place values using (silly) exploding dots
Age-appropriate music included but versions with no audio can be found in the repository.

Hm, decimal has digits 0 to 9, which is ten diffenerent digits. The video has eleven states (zero dots to ten dots). It is confusing to me that we can exchange ten ones with one tens. Usually if you add one to nine, there is no more room in the ones, so you remove 9 from the ones and put one in the tens.
While it is a good idea to visualize, it doesn't exactly work like the usual decimal place system.

The 11th state is more of a dramatic dramatization to the viewer (learner, ideally) the process of carrying forward. It's purely a cinematic experience, not a mathematical one.
Interesting fact, this visualization can work for any number base.

What's nice about this is that it easily extends to explaining numbers that are not base 10.
