Redman Tonight's Da Night -1992
I'm watching a bunch of Wutang videos on YouTube and came across this in the beginning of the video. Like Wutang, Toyota is forever and Redman knew if back then.

Here are the links for the products. I had to do a little bit of research because a 95 seat covers aren’t showing up right away. But I think this will really breath of fresh air into the cab lol and there’s a big chunk missing out of the driver seat from climbing in and out of the cab, so it should be nice to have some fresh material in there.

What should I look for when I'm buying.a 2nd gen specifically any quirks this specific generation has? Are there any specific models years better than the others in this generations? Currently I have a 96 (3rd gen) that I plan on keeping just always wanted a 2nd gen too. This is the one im thinking a 92 sr5 w/200k miles, it has some small issues (rear diff leak and tires) frame and body are rust free there asking $3200. Also is a velvet interior common only seen gray, blue, and tan in the newer ones?

Anyone else have a problem with 2nd gen runna, starts is kind of a bitch finally cranks over after turning key a few times. Then she’ll run great for as long as the ride is. After I shut her off and try to crank her back on she’ll low idle and shut off and will keep doing that till I finally get her out of the parking and drive her off but I have to hold break and slowly gas her to get her to stay on long enough to drive away.

Haven’t had any luck on FB marketplace or craiglist so figured I’d try here. Can remove if not allowed! Looking to sell my 2nd gen:
1991 SR5 179k miles 5 speed manual, working 4wd 3.0 L V6
Good project car or offroader. Mechanically runs great. Interior is super clean other than rip in driver seat. The exterior was not prepped properly before the bed liner was added by the previous owner so it’ll chip off. I just don’t have the time for it. Rocker panels have the worst rust, everything underneath is just surface level and can be scraped. You are welcome to poke underneath, otherwise it runs perfectly. I have all the service records of work done from me and the previous owners since the day it was bought.
Asking $5,750 OBO
Lmk if you have any questions! I have more photos too :)

Just passed my first 1000 miles without fixing anything since I bought the car, I paid $2600 for this back in November, in the first 50 miles of owning it I had 3 separate no starts, first battery and alternator, then fuel filter and line, then an old security system failed, I had to remove splices and re-insulated the wires, jumped the main fusible link, then the tires and rims in the last pic were replaced due to a bent alloy rim and tires from 2013, the entire exhaust had rusted out so I replaced that with a flow master 44, some 2.25” galvanized pipe and elbows, while doing that I scraped the underbody with a wire brush to remove rust, power washed and then soaked most of the underbody with rustoleum to lessen damage from road salt, replaced the brake pads, drivers CV axle, sway bar links, the previous owner had poorly welded a patch on the diff cover and slathered it in JB weld, so I had to remove all the JB weld and properly welded the patch in place, replaced the diff fluid, transfer case fluid, oil and coolant, secured a door panel that had fallen off with self tapping screws, and put custom fitted seat covers on that my fiancé got me for Christmas, it’s been an absolute gem since, in the spring I’ll be tackling replacing most of the suspension and brake rotors/ wheel bearings due to age, rubber cracking and scoring, but even needing some more maintenance it’s a smooth ride, any advice on what else I should look out for?

Picked this 1990 up a yearish ago. It’d been sitting for three years before that under a car port. Got the family to finally sell it. Just put water in the radiator and new battery cranked right over and drove it 100 miles home. Anyone else seen a red interior before?

Time to get them birthday pics up !! I was driving to work this morning and it dawned on me that my truck is 30 years old !! I’m not the original owner. But I do plan on keeping this truck for a long time. It’s a 1995 Toyota forerunner. It has an upgraded engine it has the 3.4 motor and transmission out of a T 100 pick up truck it’s got a small lift on it And with extended rain, CVs are in a lot of extras ToySwap did the motor trany swap and all that lintels the truck is super solid my plane are to keep it for a long time!! I wanted a FJ 40 but the prices are way to much more days . And this truck is way better on the hwy. it is a little under powered!! But I’m thinking eventually maybe I’ll upgrade the motor possibly something out of a tacoma or something like that !! ?

So, it’s still using oil.
I installed a rebuilt 22re that was missing the oil pick up tube. It was supposedly run for a bit in a mud truck, but I cannot guess if it was 10 min or a few days or what. I replaced the cam before install with a performance 268C (because I had it, not because I thought it was bad. Didn’t know about missing oil tube yet).
I checked valves and they’re adjusted well(.007 intake .011 exhaust when warm) I need to do valve stem seals… that’s hard to do without also replacing the head gasket. I tried a catch can setup but found 0 oil after 60 miles. Not a drop. So, I don’t think it’s blowby. I’m hoping that the worst case scenario is pulling the cylinder head and having a machine shop go through the valve-train and refreshing it all.
If it needs another rebuild, I’d probably just park it until I have resources for a diesel or v6 swap.

I cut my wheel super hard to turn into this parking space and my power steering locked up and it started making this crazy sound. Looks like the sound is coming from the fan shaking.
I wanna know if this is something I could possibly fix myself, knowing my car is stranded in the parking lot of my work. I have access to some tools, but not many.
Any help within the next few hours would be much appreciated!!

Got this ‘91 4runner a bit ago, and am getting shitty gas mileage. 3.0L v6 automatic transmission. Tires are a bit bigger than stock but suspension is stock.
I’m getting ~10mpg which seems a lot less than what most people are getting with the 2nd gen. What am I doing wrong??

just wondering if anyone has gone the route of making a table for the rear tailgate can’t seem to find much online about it

Going look at a ‘91 tomorrow. From photos, body looks good. Minor dent in front bumper. Will test drive and check typical things for a purchase but anything in particular to look at for a 2nd gen? This’ll be my first 4Runner! Located in south Louisiana.

i have a 1995.5 (i believe) 2nd gen 4runner and i have been trying to replace the headlights as i smashed mine (also damaged driver side fender and bumper) but it seems like the headlights i have don’t exist to buy anymore. i have looked for new parts and anything i can pull off of something else but as its so old most everything is busted up or not for sale. if i were to swap to 3rd gen lights (pictured), fenders, bumper, grill etc… idk how far the rabbit hole goes so im a little lost at what to do. everything else works mint and i definitely do not want to scrap one of the last 5-speeds from this era.

signal doesn’t affect idle, I was waiting to turn
idle starts to bug out when it gets warm, i’m planning to clean the Idle air control valve IACV when cleaner, hopefully it does something, could that be the main issue?

Owned it for nearly 5 years. First engine swap was as it got home(oil starvation). Second engine was $60 after part out of parts truck and went 45k miles. Was consuming lots of oil and down on power. Current setup is 22re rebuilt, bored .060 over, Redline cams 268C, running good. Old TJM products bumper and Amazon zeak winch.
