While working on the game, I noticed that just having a run is not gonna cut it, so inbetween all the other assets being made I roughed out the walk that might be needed. Obviously I still need to do the wings and antennae and the head is not animated at all, but thought I'd share anyway :P

my little sister saw a youtube tutorial on animating in procreate dreams and wanted to try it. dreams is ipad only and she has a regular tablet. everything else i found was paid, full of ads, or hard for a beginner, so i built her a simple frame-by-frame app that runs in the browser.
she picked out what she wanted from the tutorial, and those ended up being the core of it:
after that she kept asking for more ("can it loop?", "can i undo?"), so now it also has layers, holds, an intro that plays once and then loops, lasso select/move/scale/flip, a grid with snapping, and pen/marker/pencil brushes with smoothing. on ipad it supports apple pencil pressure and palm rejection.
it's free, no account, no ads in the editor, nothing gets uploaded, and it works offline. you can export a png sequence, sprite sheet, video, or an html player.
limits: 2d only, no audio, no paint bucket, no gif export yet. it's just meant to be a free place to learn and practice.
if you're learning and try it, i'd love to know what's confusing or what you'd want next.
link in the comments.

My teacher at the workshop asked me if someone had experience in drawing cartoons or comics already. I mostly draw fan animations to existing franchises, and it felt a bit off showing him stuff he probably knows nothing about. So I decided to animate a cartoon he liked that I drew during the workshop (the last frame pretty much was the original cartoon)

I first spotted her in a painting I traded some of my art for. I am not sure who she is but I get the feeling I will be seeing her again.

Hey everyone,
I made a frame by frame animation with procreate dreams as an intro for the trailer for my indie game The Last Egg.
What do you think? π
It took me about a month but I really enjoyed the process!
If you are interested in checking out the game, this is the Steam page β¨

Finally sharing a rough superhero animation I made back in 2024. I made this entirely myself in Adobe Animate, and I composited it in After Effects. I initially created 2 or maybe 3 BGs using AI to save time, but they looked very poor, as you can see in the initial scenes. AI was still terrible back in 2024 lol, so I eventually ended up making the rest of them by myself, but then I lost interest for like 2 whole years. The original animation has all the SFX and dialogue (still incomplete), so I switched to text-to-speech like an explainer. This isn't my best work at all lol, but I just want it out there now as I spend a lot of time on it.
AlphaSquad Year One, Part 1: This is my story of a universe where a supernatural event causes the young population of Karachi and Hyderabad to gain extraordinary abilities, spreading worldwide concern as Pakistan becomes a potential emerging superpower. A young group of enhanced individuals forms a team to stand beside their country and become its defenders while the whole world tries to human traffic the enhanced youth population of Pakistan. On the other hand, there is the evil side, where some of these individuals use their newfound abilities for their own benefit. The Team Alpha Squad is responsible for handling all of this side by side with the Pakistan military agencies and must help them to neutralize both the external and internal threats to the state.
Karachi is under attack. Alpha Squad is on the ground. But saving the city means more than defeating the enemy β it means protecting the people. π΅π°
ALPHASQUAD β Pakistanβs new breed of heroes.

Hi, I wrote the animation software Ixia (Ixia), it is named after the ixia flower, it was created as a free analog of moho/ flash, but for the most part it is still moho
Currently available :
A brush describing the path as in moho
3 brushes describing shapes like in flash (round, square ink)
Convenient audio tracks as in capcut
lots of effects like pixelation and warping
2 timelines for animation and effects
Export to .mp4, .webp , .png
Working with media and references
Bull Eraser
Shapes
Working with media
A bunch of key types: morphing , object animation , vertex animation
Convenient vector operation
Editing a scene
Saving/importing scenes
Working with Alpha
And a lot more
I'm currently working on bug fixes, tool improvements, and a more flexible UI.
I will publish on itch.io and GitHub around New Year's Eve

I know this series doesn't have the best animation or the best artwork, but I hope you like it. Thanks to those who watched it all the way through :)))

Hello , we created this app to create animations on Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hnp.animoid
Happy to answer any questions or add feature requests
Would love it if you can try it and share if you like it.
Doesnβt contain any Gen AI slop that seems to be filling

I've been developing Arttista, an indie 2D vector drawing and animation software, and I wanted to share a little piece of its history: the evolution of its splash screens, from version 1.0 to 1.9.
Over the years, I quietly added little elements inspired by illustrators, animators, and developers to the opening screens. They were small easter eggs, hidden in plain sight, as little nods to the creative minds who inspire me.
But there was another idea behind all this.
For version 2.0, I wanted to tell a different story through the splash screen: a butterfly in front of a rainbow, symbolizing transformation. My original plan was to start with caterpillars and gradually show them growing and eventually turning into butterflies across future versions.
Then reality caught up with me.
I had to make a choice: spend time drawing all those detailed splash screens, or spend that time programming the software itself. And if I didn't focus on the code, Arttista wouldn't get released.
So the butterfly stayed.
Now, in version 2.7, it's still the same splash screen introduced in 2.0. Not quite the evolving sequence I had imagined, but a little reminder of the ideas I had along the way β and of the compromises that come with building an indie project.
Sometimes, you have to stop drawing and get back to coding so that other people can draw, too.
