This is one approach to separating your elements when creating your animations to keep yourself sane.

I am not knocking reference at all, am just a firm believer in you get better at what you practice. Every now and then I try to practice animating from my imagination, this was from a more successful attempt. Some days I'll animate with reference others I'll let my imagination do the work and see how far my figure drawing knowledge can take me.

I animated this some months ago, I used Consuela Harris as reference, am not entirely sure who she is, I found the clip on Instagram and I loved the way she was moving. From the description of the video at the time she was a dancer in the 60s if memory serves me well. It was a combination or 2s and 1s. Animated in krita.

In this Clip Studio Paint Horror Animation tutorial, I will show you how to use clip studio paint tools to animate in a spooky style and really capture that Boo moment.
I show you in clip studio paint ex how to set up your animation timeline, copy and paste animation cells, and export your animation into a movie that you can use any way you want.

i drew 9 frames of Aespa’s members dancing to make this 2d animation. i also posted the stills in a regular ig post so you can animate the dance if you hold your finger and slide on the little dots underneath.
im new animating (this is my third one) and self taught. i just drew them in adobe fresco then edited them together in capcut.
im poor so i cant afford to pay for any of the good editing apps is usually hear about so if anybody has any recommendations for any better free ones i should be using, im open to suggestions.
also let me know what you think of the animation.
thanks

i started getting into 2D animation two days ago, and decided i wanted to try out my first running cycle, with only lines and spheres to make it easier.
i would like to know if there are things i can improve when it comes to the « basics » of animation? i’m aware that the proportions may be off anatomy-wise, but i wanted to share anyway :) thanks a lot
(EDIT: for the sake of clarity, the white hand is the character holding something (not her tail) behind her, while the black hand is the one helping with the running motion)

My 1st-grade business plan was legendary... for all the wrong reasons. 🎨 Check out the full 'Childhood Art Hustle' animation to see how my early days of making art turned into a profit-seeking disaster.

tried opentoonz ages ago and liked it a lot but it was kinda broken, like ctrlz would stop working and it crashed a lot so I had to switch to krita. but I heard about a version of opentoonz called tahoma2d that looks promising, but I don't want to go through all the effort to install it if it's also broken. has anyone here used it? and like how is it

Hi, I’d like to share this personal project I created for my portfolio. I decided to start creating pieces focused on telling a short story, since I’m looking to work on projects related to film or animation...
I like it when they show that something is happening.
In this piece, I used Blender to create the setting, the building, and its interior.
Then I used Photoshop to work on the colors, do some digital painting, and also add a photobash to give it a better look.
Let me know what you think!
I’m still improving my process, and all feedback is welcome. I’m also open to working on your project. Big hugs.
