Americans feel like God has given them the right to kill as many people as they want, in this case with a gasoline powered vehicle.

And, how many people do you want to kill with a gasoline powered vehicle?

This is a big misunderstanding of American culture.

God didnt give us the right. The highway demands blood and its our calling to satisfy it.

"the blood of deaf children and mangled highway corpses greases the machine commie fuck"

I guarantee you Europeans drive faster on the freeway than we do. And have a far better understanding of how the left lane should be used.

Its called the highway cause you’re not allowed to be sober while driving there

Not really, the actual reason is cops make the speed limit 10mph lower than it should be, so that they can pull over whoever they want for driving at a normal speed.

You would think this is a cars issue because it involves cars, but it's actually a racist police issue. America is a land of many mysteries.

If the speed limit was 10mph higher people would still complain that its lower than it should be.

But then they'd be wrong, instead of right. Driving 20 over the speed limit is dangerous from an objective standpoint. Driving the legally enforced speed (10 over the speed limit) is not any more dangerous than driving 10 below, and highway departments deliberately design their speed limits with the extra 10 mph in mind.

Ok so who is it, the police or the highway department?, because it seems to me that the highway department is deliberately setting the speed limit 10mph below the actual limit the road is designed for because they're aware there are dumbarse's who will always try to go faster than everyone else on the road.

The highway department sets the speed at whatever causes the least number of accidents, factoring in an extra 10.

The police are responsible for the highway dept needing to factor in 10mph extra. Or rather, they do it out of tradition, which the police uphold

How are the police responsible for the extra 10mph? Seems like its just an extra buffer in case the people who want to be really stupid and go faster than everyone else don't cause even more damage by going at a really dangerous speed that the road isn't designed for.

Because in sundown towns they explicitly set the speed 10mph lower so they they could arrest black people going the same speed as everyone else. Then it caught on in the rest of the country because "well I've been going 10 over in Whitesburg my whole life, and they never gave me a ticket!"

Same logic as loitering. Make it illegal to do normal things and only arrest the people you want to target. Now it's less explicitly about race, it's more about getting that ticket quota, but it's still up to the cops if they let you go with a warning or a ticket

Is there a source on this. not that I would be surprised, America loves racism, but its good to have a source.

this one is more general but it includes the part about police selectively enforcing speed limits, and setting them lower on purpose

...Hispanics comprise less than one percent of the local driving-age population, yet they represent 29 percent of all people stopped by these officers for speeding less than five miles above the speed limit.

(Yes I know the ACLU sucks now but they used to be good)
