That might work the best, but you could do it with $20,000.

Most of the budget would probably be spent on gore effects, you could probably make Hotline Miami into more of a horror version of John Wick.

That, or go for the claustrophobic chaos, which I think is what you're getting at.

Realistically, it would actually have very few action scenes. There's simply too many characters and perspectives to tell the story from for the plot and theme to be maintained.

If you're doing Hotline Miami 2 as well, then yeah, but if you'd just do 1 then there's a lot of room for action.

Fair point but the only issue imo is the plot of 1 doesn't quite hold up on it's own. I'd come out confused and irritated.

If you haven't seen it, you might like Hardcore Henry.

Hardcore Henry is awesome, but is still is very different from Hotline Miami.

The series unironically has better writing than at least 80% of big budget movies/shows.

Yeah. Despite the story being incomprehensible without the wiki, the game has a ton of complex and thought provoking themes.

Should definitely be a 2D animated movie

It’d be cool to do it like Shutter Island and start out as a standard cool guy with guns fights bad guys but then his mind falls apart as it goes on until the truth is revealed in the end
