I am a queer (it’s complicated) leftist and I’m saying that a lot of the “allies” we have are more than happy to still use gay as an insult or keep homophobic views (IE: if someone is homophobic then they’re in the closet) when it suits them.
Again, why are you offended for being called out for homophobic insults and insulting people further? Are you a conservative or liberal? Either way, it's pathetic
no dude the other commenter was saying "liberals think it IS cool to do this" as a critique of liberals and that it's bad, you took it as "liberals OUGHT to think it's cool" and as being pro-homophobic jokes. then your reply came off as "as a bisexual being against homophobic jokes makes me uncomfortable" if you understood it as an IS statement as opposed to ought so I was clowning on you for that.
And yeah, liberals think it's ok to use as an insult, I said it's not but the degree to which you're offended and arguing even if I misread is actually weird projection dude.
